You’ll have the chance to support your learning and experience different urban and cultural environments on field trips. Working alongside students from other universities on joint fieldwork projects will enable you to develop your teamworking, communication and planning skills.

As part of this course, you’ll:

• Explore a wide range of theories within psychology, mental health, counselling, child development and psychotherapy
• Combine theoretical knowledge with opportunities to work in mental health environments and develop your ability to build effective therapeutic relationships

This course will prepare you to take the next step in your career if:

• Your first degree is in biomedical sciences or a related subject, or
• You don’t have a degree in this field, but you have significant experience of working in a biomedical sciences laboratory setting

As part of this course you’ll:

• Develop expertise to inform and underpin your research activities, so you’ll be well placed to undertake specialist laboratory-based roles or PhD study
• Study wide-ranging topics, from immunology and haematology to medical genetics and physiology

The course is delivered by four European universities: Leeds Beckett University, Hanze University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands, IULM in Italy and Vilnius University in Lithuania, which all specialise in professional communications and public relations.

You will choose whether to study your first or second semester at Leeds Beckett University, where you will benefit from being taught at one of the most established centres for education and research in the field of public relations in Europe. You will spend your remaining semesters at a partner university, specialising in areas of expertise specific to that university. You could also take an optional industry placement in your final semester.

Through a combination of teaching and group work of placement experience in a variety of health and social care settings, this course will challenge your problem-solving and practical skills.

This course is accredited by the Royal College of Occupational Therapists and is a World Federation of Occupational Therapists Approved Education Programme. Your curriculum will reflect the standards required by the Royal College of Occupational Therapists.

As an Occupational Therapist, you will support people to manage a range of health and social challenges. These can include these can include enabling someone to go back to work following a period of depression, play sport following a head injury, or helping children with autism play games.

As part of this course you’ll:

• Explore criminological issues alongside a psychological focus
• Learn new ways of thinking about society while honing your understanding of people
• Engage with assumptions about the place of crime in society and our responses
• Gain an understanding of the causes and effects of crime and deviant behaviour through social research
• Use a range of psychological approaches to study human behaviour and thought to understand why people respond the way they do to crime
