The finance specialism will introduce you to the basics of organisational finance and how to use financial information to support business decisions.

As part of this course you’ll:

• Find new ways to produce innovative choreography
• Choose optional modules to create an individual programme of study
• Explore your artistic interests and make several new pieces of choreography
• Engage with the latest research and insights, and learn how to apply this to real-world situations
• Develop the skills to respond to a brief, curate work for festivals and events, and collaborate on and initiate interdisciplinary and experimental projects
• Explore traditional and alternative settings for dance and performance, from the studio and theatre to galleries and museums
• Have the opportunity to work with community groups using participatory, immersive and specialised collaborative approaches to develop new choreographic methods
• Share ideas and experiences with fellow students to collaborate, critique and engage with each other's choreographic identities

If you have little or no experience of psychology, this course will give you the essential knowledge, skills and experience needed for a first step towards a career in this exciting field.

You will gain a comprehensive and critical understanding of cognitive, social, developmental and biological psychology, individual differences and conceptual and historical issues in psychology. In preparation for completing your dissertation, you will also develop the research skills necessary for designing and conducting quality research beyond that expected of graduates.

This course is relevant to graduates who have not studied psychology before, who have completed an undergraduate degree with a psychology component or who have undertaken an undergraduate psychology course not accredited by the BPS.

You will have the opportunity to consider your area of practice in significant depth and further develop your critical analysis and reasoning skills. With our part-time option, you will have the flexibility to study at your own pace to fit your learning around your work and personal commitments.

The world of cinema increasingly offers opportunities for study outside of filmmaking itself. This innovative programme offers the opportunity to gain both the vital skills and critical awareness necessary to pursue a career in the diverse areas of contemporary film curation and exhibition, whether within the industry or within the field of research. This could include curation within a museum or arts centre; festival management; exhibition and distribution both theatrical and online; or cinema programming.

A range of placements with industry partners including The Tetley, a leading centre for contemporary art housed in the former Tetley brewery, and Leeds International Film Festival, will allow you to see this in action, providing you with the practical skills you need to successfully curate and exhibit films.

Classroom-based modules will explain the theory behind programming, archiving and film exhibition using case studies including cinemas, art galleries and festivals amongst others.

As part of your course, you’ll:

• Study poems, plays and prose narratives in their historical and cultural contexts
• Discuss and debate the different ways texts can be interpreted
• Embrace a wide range of theoretical approaches
• Cover a diverse range of texts, from the literatures of Romanticism through to the contemporary, and British and American Literature of the twentieth century to the postcolonial literatures of the Caribbean, India, Pakistan, South Africa, and Australia
• Work directly with leading literary researchers to develop your own creative and critical voice

Your campus sits in the very centre of the city, surrounded by museums, art galleries, theatres, film production companies and recording studios. We work directly with Leeds museums and galleries and many regional events, including the Ilkley Literature Festival and the Leeds West Indian Carnival.

As part of this course, you’ll:

• Complete your dissertation, an in-depth project focused on enhancing corporate governance practice, supported by an expert tutor
• Define your own area of investigation, be that corporate governance, compliance or social responsibility and performance
• Aim to support your professional development and improve the corporate governance of your organisation so it becomes a beacon for good practice
• Study part-time with the support of an applied business school, so you’re able to fit your studies into your professional schedule

As part of this course, you’ll:

• Acquire in-depth knowledge and develop skills that are associated with, competent risk management strategies and techniques
• Learn and develop innovative methods for dealing with legislative challenges when managing health and safety issues

Locally, nationally and globally, young people and communities are having to deal with difficult and challenging situations. Learn the skills you need to help them, and yourself, rise to those challenges.

You’ll undertake placements in a wide variety of settings and work with individual young people, as well as with groups and the wider community. This includes young offenders, drug services, environmental agencies and outdoor education centres.

Your qualification is validated by the National Youth Agency (NYA) and recognised by the Joint Negotiating Committee (JNC). These bodies endorse professional qualifications for youth and community workers.
