You’ll be engaged in practical events in the city in theatres, galleries and more unusual sites. Our performing arts students and staff have also performed their work together at Latitude, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Light Night here in Leeds.

• Learn how to perform effectively as a specialist learning and development practitioner across a diverse range of business environments and sectors

• Critically evaluate and apply theory and techniques to a range of complex issues, problems, and situations

Locally, nationally and globally, young people and communities are having to deal with difficult and challenging situations. Learn the skills you need to help them, and yourself, rise to those challenges.

You’ll undertake placements in a wide variety of settings and work with individual young people, as well as with groups and the wider community. This includes young offenders, drug services, environmental agencies and outdoor education centres.

Your qualification is validated by the National Youth Agency (NYA) and recognised by the Joint Negotiating Committee (JNC). These bodies endorse professional qualifications for youth and community workers.

Project management is an important facet of organisations across all sectors and industries. Accredited by the Association for Project Management (APM), this course will teach you how to work effectively with others and cultivate the range of technical skills required to be able to deliver projects effectively.

As part of your course, you’ll:

• Manage the people, time and financial resources that are required to deliver successful projects
• Enhance your knowledge of the principles, roles and techniques of project management
• Learn how to use contemporary digital technologies, including project management software
• Develop the ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels

Feedback and progress assessment, extra-curricular seminars, field trips and the involvement of industry experts as guest speakers will enrich your learning experience and your knowledge of current issues in the project management context.

As part of this course, you’ll:

• Learn to apply an enquiring, systematic, problem solving and self-evaluative approach to your work as a dietitian
• Be committed to using research, clinical guidelines and policy in the evaluation and improvement of evidence-based dietetic practice  
• Develop further the research acumen, professional skills and abilities, values and behaviours of a registered dietitian
• Enhance appreciation of the complex framework of accountability, ethical and legal boundaries to meet Employer Frameworks and Professional Regulatory and Statutory Body Standards
• Critically appraise areas of dietetic practice
• Contribute to bodies of research and evidence-based practice through an independent, original high-quality piece of master’s-level research

Become an effective communications practitioner with the expertise and confidence to work in an international setting. You will learn how to work with clients to produce practical communications solutions in the private, public and voluntary sectors all over the world.

The course is delivered by four European universities: Leeds Beckett University, Hanze University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands, IULM in Italy and Vilnius University in Lithuania, which all specialise in professional communications and public relations.

You will choose whether to study your first or second semester at Leeds Beckett University, where you will benefit from being taught at one of the most established centres for education and research in the field of public relations in Europe. You will spend your remaining semesters at a partner university, specialising in areas of expertise specific to that university. You could also take an optional industry placement in your final semester.
