MA Architecture Futures aims to provide an education that stimulates academic achievement, personal initiative, and acquisition of inter and trans-disciplinary knowledge and skills.

Quantity surveyors are the cost managers of the construction industry. While studying for a recognised degree, you’ll learn how quantity surveyors organise, control and manage the costing of projects, including building economics, contracts and construction law, construction technology and project management.

Sandwich year
Our sandwich route includes a one year industry placement, enabling you to take advantage of the strong links we have with local authorities, commercial organisations and private quantity surveying practices - all of whom provide placement opportunities for our students.

Gain a deep understanding of relational theory and practice and learn how to apply your therapeutic counselling and psychotherapy skills with clients.

Accredited by the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP), this course will enable you to develop the skills you’ll need as a professional counsellor or psychotherapist. It will provide you with the training required to become registered with the BACP and be professionally recognised as a counsellor.

This RICS accredited course reflects the real-world workings of the property and construction industries, preparing you for a career in property investment and development, property management or real estate management.

As part of your course, you’ll:

• Develop a combination of technical knowledge and professional skills
• Study the planning, building, maintenance and day-to-day management of properties from domestic dwellings to full-scale industrial and commercial units
• Cover key topics including estate and property management; portfolio management; valuation for mortgages; negotiation for sale, purchase, leasing or auction; and the financial aspects of real estate, including the financing of real estate projects
• Explore the impact of urban and regional planning policies on property management
• Gain the skills to work with planners to enhance commercial development proposals within a given timescale and budget

Working closely with other built environment students, you’ll take part in projects that mirror the professional relationships you’ll experience in industry. You’ll learn to anticipate and respond to current local and global changes in broadcasting needs. As you develop production content in a broadcasting and radio studio, you’ll also have access to facilities for live edits of your material. We’ll give you the skills to use graphics and visual construction to communicate material for branding and audiences.

Opportunities will arise to work in our in-house media training facility on collaborative projects.

This course is accredited by JAMES (Joint Audio Media Education Support) which encourages the delivery of workshops and lectures from industry professionals. A placement option and your final year project will provide you with opportunities to work with industry partners.
