As part of this course you’ll:

• Develop the scientific foundation required to undertake a PhD qualification in biomedical sciences and related areas

Construction is witnessing a transformation to become a smart and technologically innovative industry. This course will provide you with the knowledge and skills to deliver effective innovation and successfully manage projects in this ever-evolving field.

As part of your course, you’ll:

Quantity surveyors are the cost managers of the construction industry. While studying for a recognised degree, you’ll learn how quantity surveyors organise, control and manage the costing of projects, including building economics, contracts and construction law, construction technology and project management.

As part of your course, you’ll:

• Undertake individual and group assessments and develop core skills
• Build analytical, arithmetic and IT abilities
• Develop as an innovative team player with the problem solving and transferable skills needed to succeed
• Gain the confidence and skills to tackle difficult contractual situations and negotiations
• Develop an industry perspective on contemporary issues in the field

Sandwich year
Our sandwich route includes a one year industry placement, enabling you to take advantage of the strong links we have with local authorities, commercial organisations and private quantity surveying practices - all of whom provide placement opportunities for our students.

As part of your course you’ll:

• Develop your expertise in the strategic management of integrated marketing communications and advertising
• Study broader marketing areas such as market research and digital communications
• Understand how to use your communications expertise to build relationships with specific target audiences
• Learn how to support the achievement of business objectives and development through marketing and advertising management
• Have the opportunity to be mentored by marketing practitioners

Industry placements

If you take a paid work placement in your third year you’ll develop and enhance your employability skills. Past students have completed placements with companies including Mercedes Benz, Price Waterhouse Cooper and high street retail banks.
