Realise your potential in contemporary music production and develop your ability to perform live.

As part of your course you’ll:

• Concentrate on four themes: performance (group and individual), composition and arrangement, technology and production, and contextual studies
• Work alongside students and staff both in the studio and at live music venues, building a portfolio that will help you achieve your professional ambitions as a musician
• Work in conjunction with students from music production in the studios as well as working in live venues
• Have access to workshops and industry professionals through our links with JAMES (Joint Audio Media Education Support) and the Music Producers Guild

You’ll have the option to gain invaluable work experience through a placement year in industry and the opportunity to work with external clients in your final year. Throughout your course you’ll be encouraged to perform externally in the many venues that Leeds has to offer. Previous students have performed at events including the Live at Leeds festival, which attracts thousands of visitors to venues across the city every year.

Develop your own approach to the study and practice of graphic design through a combination of brief-led and self-initiated projects.

As part of your course you’ll:

• Explore a wide spectrum of disciplines including design for print, illustration, photography, typography, animation and moving image
• Discover your strengths and develop your own individual style
• Have the opportunity to show off your projects to the public and impress industry by exhibiting your work at the end of your final year

Our students have worked alongside practitioners and on live briefs from organisations such as Harvey Nichols, the BBC, Leeds Art Gallery and the NHS.

Designed for those already experienced in managing projects, as well as strategy implementers and makers, and those who wish to enhance the success of their projects, this accredited course will equip you with skills in decision making, motivation and the development and delivery of successful business strategies.

As part of your course you’ll:

• Focus on the latest issues in strategic project management, discovering better ways to manage projects
• Critically analyse and prepare effective strategies that will benefit organisations and their stakeholders
• Evaluate approaches to strategic implementation through programme and portfolio management technique

The successful achievement of an organisation’s strategy is now increasingly dependent on the effective delivery of projects and programmes that have recognisable benefits to a wide range of stakeholders. Project managers with strategic thinking and planning skills are therefore becoming key in a range of organisations and sectors.

This course will equip you with the skills to critically analyse and prepare effective strategies that have the potential to add significant value to an organisation and its stakeholders.

As part of this course you’ll:

• Develop your understanding of new technological developments and approaches in the creation of broadcast video and audio content
• Become an expert producer with the confidence to work across all platforms
• Develop TV and radio ideas and formats
• Take on production roles and work in teams on live broadcasts
• Produce podcasts, and shoot and edit video
• Create and work with motion graphics materials
• Exhibit your final projects to the general public and industry professionals at our Creative Technology Showcase 

You’ll learn to anticipate and respond to current local and global changes in broadcasting needs. As you develop production content in a broadcasting and radio studio, you’ll also have access to facilities for live edits of your material. We’ll give you the skills to use graphics and visual construction to communicate material for branding and audiences.

Opportunities will arise to work in our in-house media training facility on collaborative projects.

Promoting and marketing sport is a growing industry. You’ll develop as a dynamic sport marketer to prepare for an exciting career in this vibrant field.

As part of your course, you’ll:

• Gain insight into specific aspects of sport marketing in a changing global environment
• Discover how sport marketing contributes to the success of sports performers, teams, organisations, events and related industries
• Learn how to connect and interact with various audiences through broadcasting, branding, print and digital campaigns
• Analyse consumer behaviour
• Develop an understanding of media technologies and how they can be used to communicate with a target market
• Build skills in gaining sponsorship, writing press releases, event management, business planning, and setting up a small business
