As part of your course you’ll:

• Work with choreographers, independent dance artists and directors
• Learn how to perform, direct, organise and teach, developing your skills in all areas of contemporary dance production
• Be taught by practising artists who will advise you on producing and performing work
• Be based in Leeds, a hub of cultural activity and home to Northern Ballet, Phoenix Dance Theatre, Yorkshire Dance National Dance Agency, Leeds Playhouse, The Riley Theatre and The Carriageworks

You’ll learn from a teaching team interested in working with students from a variety of dance backgrounds and they will encourage you to develop your creativity.

You will be able to take advantage of opportunities at local, national and international level, using our links to give you access to recognised artists working in contemporary practices. Regular networking and work experience throughout the course will give you the confidence to take on exciting projects and approach people inside and outside the industry.

In your third year you’ll be able to choose a placement that appeals to you. You could help run a festival, shadow a choreographer, take part in a teaching residency, or do something else that is of interest to you.

As part of your course you’ll:

• Complete finance modules that count towards accreditation with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants
• Put what you've learned into practice by taking part in a live business consultancy project where you can work with established businesses, charities and third sector organisations

If you take a paid work placement in your third year, you’ll develop and enhance your employability skills.

As well as having the option to gain experience on a placement, you’ll take part in workshops and work on a consultancy project within a start-up business.

Our guest lecture series will help give you access to the enterprise expertise present in Leeds, the northern powerhouse of the region's businesses and economy. Past speakers include the CEO of the London Stock Exchange, the Chief Executive of the British Bankers Association and the Chief Economist of Yorkshire Bank.

Through a combination of teaching and group work of placement experience in a variety of health and social care settings, this course will challenge your problem-solving and practical skills.

As part of this course, you’ll:

• Develop the skills and knowledge to deliver occupational therapy assessments
• Devise interventions to help your clients enjoy an optimal quality of life
• Learn the soft skills, attitudes and behaviours to enable you to communicate effectively

This course is accredited by the Royal College of Occupational Therapists and is a World Federation of Occupational Therapists Approved Education Programme. Your curriculum will reflect the standards required by the Royal College of Occupational Therapists.

As an Occupational Therapist, you will support people to manage a range of health and social challenges. These can include these can include enabling someone to go back to work following a period of depression, play sport following a head injury, or helping children with autism play games.

Locally, nationally and globally, young people and communities are having to deal with difficult and challenging situations. Learn the skills you need to help them, and yourself, rise to those challenges.

You’ll undertake placements in a wide variety of settings and work with individual young people, as well as with groups and the wider community. This includes young offenders, drug services, environmental agencies and outdoor education centres.

Your qualification is validated by the National Youth Agency (NYA) and recognised by the Joint Negotiating Committee (JNC). These bodies endorse professional qualifications for youth and community workers.

Gain the skills required in design, law, management and technology to become a chartered surveyor on this Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) accredited degree.

• Study the design and construction of new buildings as well as the repair, refurbishment and management of existing structures
• Consider the historic elements of the built environment and discover how different aspects work together
• Learn how to maintain and enhance buildings that are important to our heritage

We have strong relationships with companies in the region and you’ll be taught by building surveyors. Visiting planners, architects, researchers and civil and structural engineers will deliver guest lectures and share up-to-date experience of their work in the field.

As a graduate, you’ll be eligible for full membership of the RICS following a period of approved professional practice. You’ll also need to complete a successful final assessment of professional competence by the RICS.
