Recognising the powerful links between personal and political issues, the course will assert the need to challenge inequality and safeguard vulnerable people.

In your first year, you will study the legal frameworks, policies and theories - in particular psychosocial perspectives - that underpin social work. A practice placement will offer you the chance to hone your communication skills as you start to apply your knowledge in the field.

In your second year, you will continue to extend and refine your understanding of the law. You'll also undertake a second practice placement and complete a dissertation. This course remains approved by Social Work England. This means that people qualifying from this course can apply to become a registered social worker.

Nutrition plays a key part in the promotion of good health and the primary prevention of diet-related illness in communities and populations.

As part of this course, you’ll:

• Become a critically reflective practitioner and gain practical experience in our health science and catering laboratories
• Gain an understanding of the relationship between food, nutrition and health
• Manage, analyse, interpret and communicate information and statistics about nutrition related health and disease states
• Undertake work-based placements to apply your expertise and refine your practical skills
• Have the option of undertaking a sandwich placement in year three

 You’ll undertake an extended placement in an area such as the food industry, for producers of specialist nutrition products, health promotion or research. You’ll also develop group skills by delivering your own nutrition awareness event. Throughout the course, you’ll learn skills which are appealing and desirable to employers.

Construction is witnessing a transformation to become a smart and technologically innovative industry. This course will provide you with the knowledge and skills to deliver effective innovation and successfully manage projects in this ever-evolving field.

As part of your course, you’ll:

• Gain expertise to manage smart construction and innovation, project procurement and the commercial and financial management of construction
• Learn to play a key role in shaping the future of a smart and innovative industry
• Use your experiences in the workplace to enhance your learning

Learn to produce content for all platforms including TV, radio and the web.

As part of this course you’ll:

• Develop your understanding of new technological developments and approaches in the creation of broadcast video and audio content
• Become an expert producer with the confidence to work across all platforms
• Develop TV and radio ideas and formats
• Take on production roles and work in teams on live broadcasts
• Produce podcasts, and shoot and edit video
• Create and work with motion graphics materials
• Exhibit your final projects to the general public and industry professionals at our Creative Technology Showcase 

You’ll learn to anticipate and respond to current local and global changes in broadcasting needs. As you develop production content in a broadcasting and radio studio, you’ll also have access to facilities for live edits of your material. We’ll give you the skills to use graphics and visual construction to communicate material for branding and audiences.

Opportunities will arise to work in our in-house media training facility on collaborative projects.

Accredited by the Association for Project Management (APM), this course will teach you how to work effectively with others and cultivate the range of technical skills required to be able to deliver projects effectively.

As part of your course, you’ll:
