Studio time is central to this course. You’ll develop your skills in our extensive studio facilities, which include workshop and computer-modelling software.

As part of your course, you’ll:

• Study a wide range of topics – from studio design and model-making, to art, history and culture
• Use industry-standard tools to design and build your projects
• Learn technical skills in workshops alongside students from our BA (Hons) Interior Architecture & Design and BA (Hons) Landscape Architecture & Design courses

Nutrition plays a key part in the promotion of good health and the primary prevention of diet-related illness in communities and populations.

As part of this course, you’ll:

• Become a critically reflective practitioner and gain practical experience in our health science and catering laboratories
• Gain an understanding of the relationship between food, nutrition and health
• Manage, analyse, interpret and communicate information and statistics about nutrition related health and disease states
• Undertake work-based placements to apply your expertise and refine your practical skills
• Have the option of undertaking a sandwich placement in year three

 You’ll undertake an extended placement in an area such as the food industry, for producers of specialist nutrition products, health promotion or research. You’ll also develop group skills by delivering your own nutrition awareness event. Throughout the course, you’ll learn skills which are appealing and desirable to employers.

As part of your course you’ll:

• Develop your expertise in the strategic management of integrated marketing communications and advertising
• Study broader marketing areas such as market research and digital communications
• Understand how to use your communications expertise to build relationships with specific target audiences
• Learn how to support the achievement of business objectives and development through marketing and advertising management
• Have the opportunity to be mentored by marketing practitioners

This course will equip you with a deep understanding of accounting and finance and their importance for organisations and businesses.

If you take a paid work placement in your third year, you’ll develop and enhance your employability skills. Our students have enjoyed placements with Disney, Morrisons and the NHS.

Our guest lecture series will help support your development. Past speakers include the CEO of the London Stock Exchange, the Chief Executive of the British Bankers Association and the Chief Economist of Yorkshire Bank.

• Complete your dissertation, an in-depth project focused on enhancing corporate governance practice, supported by an expert tutor

Create fashion designs and explore experimental approaches to garment making and design. We will show you how to challenge the limitations of fashion and understand its role in society.

As part of your course, you’ll:

• Explore a range of contemporary issues within geography and environmental science such as remote sensing, natural hazard management, energy and environmental governance, climate adaptation, GIS and specialist technical field work
• Develop your understanding of the relationships between human activity and environmental change and combine theories about the physical nature, characteristics and environment of the world with human interactions

Field trips, which include visits to sites of geographical and environmental importance, will help you gain an understanding of real-world issues and develop competence in practical research skills.
