Acquire the knowledge and skills needed for a career as an environmental health practitioner by analysing the five main intervention areas: housing, food safety, occupational health and safety, environmental protection and public health. You will develop your understanding of environmental stress factors and their effect on human health and safety, together with the legal and technical frameworks for controlling these risks.

The opportunity to interact with students from other vocational courses will broaden your perspective of environmental health issues, and you will have access to our state-of-the-art acoustics laboratory and our dedicated food inspection facilities to put your expertise into practice. You will also have the chance to engage in simulated sessions, including mock kitchen inspections and staged courtroom trials to see how the law operates in environmental health cases. These scenarios could help you work towards professional registration as an environmental health practitioner.

Professional regulation
This course is accredited by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and approved by the Health & Care Professions Council and will provide you with the necessary expertise and skills to become a qualified physiotherapist.

As part of your course you’ll:

• Gain insight into user requirements, economic, environmental and ethical considerations, as well as materials, manufacturing, production and industry capabilities
• Use your insights to help inform the design of your products
• Design a range of products for both commercial and domestic use, including furniture, interior products, consumer goods and sustainable products
• Work on live industry briefs, which will ensure you’ll be working in real world settings to design products that make a positive contribution to the world around us

This is the only course in the UK to offer a combination of transpersonal, psychoanalytic and critical approaches to psychology. You will explore ways of understanding the self as an open, evolving project that develops through interaction. This reflects developments at the leading edge of psychology, drawing upon insights from the history of human exploration of the self.

On this largely theoretical course, you will explore the relationship between psychology and cultural studies, philosophy, theology and social science. You will develop your understanding of different research methods and explore the use of language and the construction of meaning in real-world situations.

The course is delivered by four European universities: Leeds Beckett University, Hanze University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands, IULM in Italy and Vilnius University in Lithuania, which all specialise in professional communications and public relations.

You will choose whether to study your first or second semester at Leeds Beckett University, where you will benefit from being taught at one of the most established centres for education and research in the field of public relations in Europe. You will spend your remaining semesters at a partner university, specialising in areas of expertise specific to that university. You could also take an optional industry placement in your final semester.

Practising in the dynamic field of specialist sports care, you could find yourself working with elite athletes or running your own sports therapy business.
