As part of this course, you’ll:

• Gain an understanding of the scientific and mathematical principles and methodologies that underpin Civil Engineering
• Build your understanding of structures, hydraulics, geotechnical engineering, management, health, safety and welfare, surveying, materials science and sustainable development
• Look at using materials in new ways, the principles of experimental design, and the engineering behind roads, bridges and other major structures
• Know what's needed to investigate and evaluate different engineering situations

We offer great links with industry, thanks to our teaching team which includes Chartered Engineers who have extensive experience across different areas of engineering. Guest lectures and talks on engineering projects will provide you with great opportunities to network with professional engineers and understand how what you're learning can be applied to real situations.

• Gain real-world professional experience through public showings and work-based learning placements

You’ll be engaged in practical events in the city in theatres, galleries and more unusual sites. Our performing arts students and staff have also performed their work together at Latitude, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Light Night here in Leeds.

Create fashion designs and explore experimental approaches to garment making and design. We will show you how to challenge the limitations of fashion and understand its role in society.

As part of your course you’ll:

• Learn to create designs in response to different trends, market forces and technical innovations
• Work on arts and industry-informed briefs and live projects to create a portfolio of professional design and making skills
• Develop a strong understanding of the cultural, ethical and environmental concerns in the contemporary fashion industry
• Concentrate on 2D and 3D skills, and understand how to communicate ideas to manufacturers both here and abroad
• Explore 2D work using computer-aided design (CAD) for a professional finish
• Explore fabric and form to ensure applicable 3D outcomes are achieved
• Study key areas including research of ideas, design and the articulation of ideas

Your tutors will deliver theory via lectures before you explore those ideas in smaller seminars. You will complete either a work placement or MBA Consultancy Project; either module will enable you to apply your theoretical knowledge to a real-life business issue, before collecting data and research to identify practical solutions.

The effective management of supply chains and logistics is recognised as key to sustaining a company?s competitive advantage, and this accredited course will enable you to successfully negotiate the uncertain economic environment now facing businesses across the world.

Tutored by industry specialists, you will develop your understanding of core business topics such as corporate strategy and the improvement of business processes, and you will become a skilled and knowledgeable procurement expert.
