Immerse yourself in the science of sport to help develop the high-performance athletes of today and tomorrow. Your studies will allow you to develop the essential knowledge and skills required to pursue a career in sport performance.

As part of your course, you’ll:

• Develop expertise in the interdisciplinary sciences of sport performance, drawing on disciplines including biomechanics, nutrition, physiology and psychology
• Advance practical and research techniques and have the confidence to use performance-measuring equipment and technologies to evaluate athletes at all stages of their development
• Study performance approaches within individual and team contexts and learn to apply these models to virtually any sport
• Engage in work-related learning and practical placements in multiple sport settings

This course is one of the few undergraduate programmes in the UK that focuses on using multi and interdisciplinary science to augment performance in a range of client groups.

As you apply your knowledge, you’ll refine your self-awareness, becoming a sport performance practitioner capable of understanding and responding to your clients’ individual needs so they can achieve their performance objectives while also maintaining or enhancing their health and wellbeing needs.

As part of your course, you’ll:

• Develop your project management skills devising, developing and successfully implementing an array of hospitality events guided by industry
• Put theory into practice and see hospitality in action, with visits to local industry
• Work on live projects, such as devising social media communication plans for restaurateurs, designing and developing an exceptional guest welcome or creating a strategy for hoteliers and bars based on data and market insights on the latest trends in the sector

There is an opportunity to negotiate your own assessments, tailor the course to your own interests and goals, and undertake on-going training throughout your course in specific industry interests and qualifications.

Build on your existing knowledge of cyber security and digital forensic to prepare for a career across these intricate disciplines.

As part of this course, you’ll:

• Gain a critical appreciation and understanding of the more complex elements of cyber security and digital forensics, combining both academic principles and industrial needs
• Develop skills that reflect industry requirements through employer engagement
• Take part in scheduled sessions including lectures, lab exercises and discussion groups
• Participate in activities such as simulations, role-play, case studies, projects, practical work, work-based learning, workshops, peer tutoring, peer group interaction, self-managed teams and learner managed learning
• Conduct critical research and professional analysis, develop solutions, evaluate your work and create a report to present to your supervisors through a dissertation project

Develop the skills to perform digital forensic analysis on devices and implement cyber security mechanisms into any business.

As part of this course, you’ll:  

• Complete an extra year of specialist study to achieve a masters qualification
• Combine expertise in two fields of national importance
• Analyse digital devices, such as hard drives, in computer forensics modules to identify and investigate their contents
• Learn to use your knowledge of computer systems and networks to protect businesses and users from malicious attacks in computer security modules
• Learn practical investigative and 'hacking' techniques
• Learn through practical applications on our bespoke Hacktivity system that replicates real-world business systems and potential attacks 

Your fourth year of study will enable you to develop expertise in the more challenging areas of digital forensics such as image and video forensic investigations. In security areas, you’ll study in-depth software security exploitation development and the analysis and implementation of security mechanisms to defend and analyse systems. Your final year will also develop your knowledge in research practices through a research or practical dissertation project.

As part of this course, you'll:

• Study four key areas: sport performance, sport management, sport coaching and contemporary issues
• Develop academic and professional skills, applying these into your chosen sport
• Work with our industry partners including key employers, for example, Leeds Rhinos (rugby and netball), Leeds United and British Athletics
• Apply your learning around these areas of study to your chosen sport setting
• Gain breadth and depth of work experience from day one through modules, volunteering, coaching qualifications and paid employment
• Decide whether to focus on one discipline area, or maintain a breadth as you progress through your degree

As part of this course, you’ll:

• Study data analysis techniques
• Learn how to apply your knowledge to investigate social issues, such as crime connections and business insight
• Cover key themes from data management and data analytics such as machine learning, to statistics and programming
• Gain an in-depth understanding of core data analysis techniques informed by a deeper knowledge of data principles and practical considerations
• Use open source data and tools such as python and SQL, tableau and KNIME
• Learn how to identify data to inform your investigation, ensure quality results, select appropriate analysis techniques for the task and choose methods to convey the message
• Understand the importance of ethics and data governance in your approach to data science

Your ability to understand how to work with data to gain insights and create narratives will make you an asset to any organisation or individual seeking to make evidence-based decisions. You’ll be able to apply your expertise to a wide range of areas including marketing channels, and scientific innovations such as smart houses.

Tourism is constantly expanding to cater for the needs of the traveller and their desire to go further, more frequently and sustainably. This dynamic international tourism management course will keep you up to date with emerging trends and global issues, providing you with the experience and skills required to enter the industry at a professional level.

• Look at the modern challenges faced by tourism organisations, focusing on recent trends and developments so you’re equipped with the skills to solve complex problems and implement plans and solutions to resolve them

Designed to address the government's ambition of filling the current digital skills gap, this course will provide you with the specialist IT skills set required to succeed in industry. You will learn to deal with complex IT issues systematically and creatively, enhancing your ability to evaluate and apply advanced theories and techniques to a range of situations.

We recognise that you will have your own personal career aspirations, and this course will provide you with the flexibility to tailor your learning. You can study MSc Information & Technology by individual programme of study (IPOS), or by choosing one of four pathways.
