Our BSc Psychology will give you the skills needed to pursue exciting career opportunities, ranging from clinical psychology and forensics to government policy and elite sports coaching.

Introducing you to key psychological practices, our psychology degree gives you an expert understanding of everything from cognitive and social psychology to biological and developmental psychology. You’ll also gain an in-depth knowledge of human behaviour, which will open up a wide range of career opportunities and specialist study routes.

Our course is accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS), which means you’ll gain Graduate Basis of Chartered Membership once you complete your BSc Psychology. Develop your skills and practical experience with us
We’ve got psychology specialist laboratories and counselling practice rooms that, when available to access, will let you develop the practical skills needed to succeed in the field. You’ll be guided by teaching staff who are leading researchers in areas including health psychology, forensic psychology and qualitative research. Even in eventualities where we are unable to be in the laboratory or classroom together, we aim to use virtual tools to help you develop key practical skills.

Between the second and third years of study, you'll be encouraged to undertake an expenses-based year-long work placement. This will give you the chance to apply your knowledge, develop practical skills, and boost the chances of employment after you graduate. A range of established organisations are involved with our placement course, including Great Ormond Hospital School, St Georges Hospital, Priory Hospital, Institute of Psychiatry, Institute of Education, University College London, Holloway Prison, and the Metropolitan Police. The availability of placements is subject to the co-operating organisation, and we are working closely with our partners to make as many as possible available even during the pandemic. Entrepreneurs and small businesses start-ups are often thought of as the backbone of economies worldwide, while qualities such as innovation and creativity are becoming increasingly sought after by organisations that need employees who can respond to change in dynamic business environments.

In a world that now comprises a very real and thriving 'enterprise culture', this course takes you through the entire process of concept, development and execution of starting a business. With entrepreneurship insights from specialist management disciplines you will develop practice based skills and knowledge in strategy and logistics, as well as an understanding of innovation networking from a behavioural perspective.

We will build on your ability to make confident decisions, help you spot market opportunities, adopt team working skills, apply critical attitudes towards leadership, think creatively and develop as an entrepreneurial leader. During the foundation year you will learn how computers are used by a broad range of people and organisations as well as acquiring fundamental software development skills and knowledge of hardware. You also gain relevant mathematical and statistical skills and develop useful communication skills.

BEng Electronic Engineering

In today’s technically advancing world, our hands-on approach will put you at the forefront of the next generation of electronic engineers, where you will have a significant impact on modern life.

Originally developed at Middlesex University, the first degree in the UK to focus purely on how to prescribe safe and effective physical activity, exercise and sporting participation to those living with the 18 most common chronic diseases in the UK and healthy ageing.

The health and fitness industry has witnessed an explosion in recent years as more and more people realise the importance of exercise. With this comes new challenges for professionals who must consider the wide range of long-term medical conditions which could impact their clients or patients, and how physical activity can positively aid healthy ageing.

Our postgraduate degree promotes cutting edge professional practice, giving students the opportunity to undertake leading research and acquire the latest knowledge of effective practice prescription for special populations, including post-Covid-19, under the supervision of highly experienced experts.

The course has been designed specifically for qualified graduates and health and fitness professionals, so understands that you will bring experience and working knowledge with you. We help you put this into context and develop it. During the course you will learn how to justify your professional decisions with evidence-based practice and develop your professional understanding and accountability.

You might already have a Level 3 GP referral qualification, a Level 4 individual condition qualification or a BSc degree, but this Level 7 degree takes that knowledge to the highest level. At the end of the degree you will have a comprehensive understanding of 18 of the most commonly presented conditions and how to manage them singly or as comorbidities through exercise prescription, and how to prescribe exercise to promote healthy ageing.

Develop your practical dance performance skills

A dance degree will equip you with everything you need to start a career in this creative field, from joining a dance company to working for an arts organisation. Your day will be made up of a variety of learning including theoretical and creative practices, and daily practical classes with live accompaniment where you’ll specialise in different dance techniques.

We have four fully-equipped dance studios. Additionally, our flagship Grove Dance Theatre has a seating capacity of 144, a dedicated dressing room, a specialist lighting rig, and many more extras to facilitate an authentic stage environment.

We have a long-standing partnership with the artsdepot, an award winning cultural hub in North London, where you'll have an opportunity to perform. You’ll also attend industry professional workshops and the student-led dance society will facilitate your interests and pursuits of different dance styles. Graduates have gone on to perform with the likes of Eddie Peake, Ross McKim, and Flawless among others.

You’ll also get support from our Student Learning and Graduate Academic Assistants, who have experience in your subject area. We also have close links with the sport and rehabilitation clinic, so you receive support for safe dance training.
Teaching staff always work closely with students, going above and beyond to support them in their career goals and with their professional experience, they know the hurdles you'll face. Careers in the arts, dancing as part of a troupe or becoming a choreographer are all just an application away!

Cardiac physiology skills are in high demand, and our specialist healthcare course gives you the expertise, skills and practical experience to enter the field of healthcare science.

Covering everything from diagnostics and monitoring to analytical and intervention procedures, you’ll gain an expert understanding of the heart, how it functions, and how to provide treatment to patients of all ages. Through a mix of virtual and on campus laboratory work and industry placements, you’ll also develop your expertise in echocardiography, pacemaker implantation, exercise stress testing, electrocardiograms (ECGs) and blood pressure measurement.

This degree is the ideal sports and exercise science route for students who aspire to work with elite athletes. Learn how to plan and deliver training programmes, monitor progress and deliver feedback to coaches. Being a fully recognised profession in elite sport, almost all professional clubs now employ a minimum of one strength and conditioning coach. This course will provide you with the knowledge and skills to work with athletes in any sport and of any age.

Learn from noted academics who also work with professional athletes and clubs. This course will facilitate your accreditation from relevant strength and conditioning awarding bodies (NSCA and UKSCA) and provide supervised work experience with high-level athletes (for example, in professional football, rugby, and with Olympic and Paralympic athletes). Alongside designing and implementing evidence-based, sport-specific training programmes, you will master a number of exercise techniques, including Olympic lifting, speed agility and plyometrics. You will also develop research and data analysis skills, and the ability to present findings to a team.

You will gain experience as a strength and conditioning coach and scientist through our work-placement module. One of our partner organisations is Saracens Rugby Club and our facilities are housed at their nearby Barnet Copthall Stadium, home of Saracens Rugby Club, where we boast world-class performance laboratories, rehabilitation units and testing facilities. You will build invaluable industry contacts and we maintain contact with many of our graduates who have gone on to work in professional sports.

The basis for a wide range of computer-based careers, computer science studies opens up opportunities across all sectors – from software development to systems engineering and everywhere in between. Our course helps you develop the skills, knowledge and experience that will attract employers and help you achieve your computer-based career goals. You also have the option of extending your studies to 4 years and gaining an MComp qualification.

You’ll gain an understanding of the key principles of computer science while you develop your programming, system engineering, and project experience skills. You’ll also get the support, encouragement and confidence to put your skills into practice through individual and group projects. Your first year will be entirely project led, ensuring you practice your skills from the very start.

In the past our students have worked on a project with the prestigious Pink Shoe Club , creating prototypes for a unique digital self-assessment tool.

• You’ll have the opportunity to take a year-long, paid work experience placement as part of a four-year study path. Placements are subject to availability of employer organisations and opportunities may be limited as a result of Covid-19. We’ll also give you access to industry professionals and work experience opportunities to help you further develop your professional skills.

Our information systems degree gives you the skills, experience and expertise you need to succeed in the computer-based sector – and beyond. You’ll get to grips with the specialist equipment, systems and technologies that will give you the experience, expertise and confidence to apply your skill. Our degree will prepare you for career paths that range from organisational management and systems architects to chief information officers and enterprise architects.

This is an interdisciplinary course meaning the content's structured in ways that map explicitly to modern technology, including systems design, application development, client-side programming, and much more.

Build your information systems skills

You’ll have the opportunity to take a year-long, paid work experience placement as part of a four-year study path (subject to securing an organisation that is able to support such a placement during the COVID-19 pandemic). We’ll also give you industry professionals and work experience opportunities to help you further develop your professional skills and network. In the past, our students have taken part in Sky's hackathon which tested their knowledge and team-working skills.
