A dance degree will equip you with everything you need to start a career in this creative field, from joining a dance company to working for an arts organisation. Your day will be made up of a variety of learning including theoretical and creative practices, and daily practical classes with live accompaniment where you’ll specialise in different dance techniques.

We have four fully-equipped dance studios. Additionally, our flagship Grove Dance Theatre has a seating capacity of 144, a dedicated dressing room, a specialist lighting rig, and many more extras to facilitate an authentic stage environment.

We have a long-standing partnership with the artsdepot, an award winning cultural hub in North London, where you'll have an opportunity to perform. You’ll also attend industry professional workshops and the student-led dance society will facilitate your interests and pursuits of different dance styles. Graduates have gone on to perform with the likes of Eddie Peake, Ross McKim, and Flawless among others.

With the flexibility to study over three or four years – the latter with a year-long paid industry placement – you’ll build your specialist economic knowledge, gain experience of the operations, strategy and regulatory functions of banking and finance, and learn the practical skills you need to succeed in one of most important global sectors.

Build your banking and finance skills

You enrol on a four-year course, which includes the one-year foundation course. If you complete this year successfully you progress directly onto one of our three-year degree courses in these subject areas. BA Criminology (Criminal Justice)

Our criminal justice degree approaches the subject from a theoretical, research-informed, and practice-based perspective. This means that during your time studying you’ll gain an understanding of the criminal justice system, including an introduction to law and legal justice and the different career paths you might want to pursue after graduation. This could be joining the police or opting to work for support services and charities that focus on policy and reform. You’ll work in our Financial Markets Lab, where you’ll have industry standard access to Bloomberg and Datastream financial software. You’ll also have access to cutting-edge business resources including the Chartered Management Institute’s Management Direct Resource Hub.

You'll use London stock exchange data for listed companies in order to form portfolios. You'll calculate its expected return, comparing with the market including the identification of over and under priced companies.You will develop key business skills, knowledge and experience in order to excel in a management career. Companies and organisations require graduates who have expert business knowledge, who can also demonstrate analytical and problem solving skills, and the professional acumen to deal with challenges in a fast-paced business environment. You will focus on building financial knowledge and skills and will learn the role of accounting within organisations.

• You’ll build your skills in a live financial environment. You’ll also have real-time news updates which show the reflection of stock prices and how they are influenced, as well as identifying efficient markets.

Our Sociology with Criminology degree is designed to give you a grounding in sociological and criminological thinking, research methods and key skills to articulate new and emerging social and criminological issues. Studying BSc Medical Biochemistry with us will introduce you to new ideas and products that are applied to some of the biggest health problems of today. Access to the labs is dependent upon any restrictions resultant from the ongoing Covid 19 outbreak.

How you’ll practise your skills
Our course is unique among other medical biochemistry degrees because we focus on getting you work experience throughout your time with us. You’ll have the option of taking a year-long industry placement that’ll help you develop your transferable skills. We also have a work experience module that’ll allow you to increase your chances of employment and practice working in the scientific field. Workplace learning is under the control of our employer partners who may need to restrict access to placement learning in light of the ongoing Covid 19 outbreak.

You’ll learn through a series of computer-based sessions, practically focused learnings, and workshops. This mixed learning style will ensure you’re practising your skills in hypothesis formation, data collection, analysis, and interpretation as you learn. In addition, you’ll get the chance to become a member of the Middlesex Biochemical Society and gain experience as part of different research groups.

Cardiac physiologists record and analyse physiological data to diagnose and treat cardiac disease. They play an essential role in healthcare, saving many lives and improving many more. Cardiac physiologists in hospitals deal with patients first-hand, meaning they need not only highly specialised knowledge and excellent analytical abilities but good people skills.

Our biomedical and biological science courses have a burgeoning international reputation, due to our world-class research in areas including biomarkers, public health and biomodelling. The university is home to the Centre for Investigative and Diagnostic Oncology, which has pioneered techniques for cancer diagnosis and treatment, including our breakthrough in the development of a vaccine for bladder cancer.
