• From your second year, you’ll have the option to switch to the creative (BA) route or to remain on the more technological (BEng/MEng) path for the remainder of your studies. If you’re applying for our four-year MEng course, you’ll begin work on your master's qualification as soon as you successfully finish your undergraduate study.

Our course will give you a broad understanding of international political systems, economics and international law while enabling you to carefully consider the ever-evolving international context for maximum relevance.

Understand practical fashion communication and develop your styling skills
We strongly believe the best way to prepare you for a career in this exciting field is with hands-on experience throughout the course. That’s why you’ll get the opportunity to apply your theoretical knowledge, like responding to live briefs set by industry experts, not just your lecturers.

During your fashion communication degree you'll take part in a work placement or equivalent activity, allowing you to spend time in a live work environment in your chosen area of the fashion industry. Past students have worked with Hero magazine, Man About Town, Law and Wonderland, and they have also worked closely with editor Alex James Taylor.

Biological science of the Third Millennium. encompasses and unites concepts, techniques and data from many allied sciences to provide a broader understanding of Life’s processes and interactions. The programme at Middlesex University is unique in combining a range of modules that cover a wide spectrum of biological sciences, but also integrates an emphasis on skills and experience acquisition that provides you with a valuable and marketable skill set. It is a programme for self- motivated students with a strong scientific interest who wish to develop their knowledge and practical skills in biology.

This programme builds upon a first year core of cell biology, microbiology, genetics, biochemistry, evolutionary biology, and biological techniques. Clinical biochemistry is the study of the chemistry of the human body and how it is affected by disease. It's a fascinating subject which combines expert theoretical knowledge with practical skills to help with the diagnosis and treatment of everything from endocrine disorders to antenatal complications. Whether you're working in a hospital laboratory or researching new treatments, you'll be doing vital, rewarding work which will improve and very often save lives.

This course is designed to enable you to build up strong laboratory and diagnostic skills. This is built around a practical element, with an emphasis on developing these skills. Where possible, you will be able to study and learn without the University's specialist laboratories. This will be augmented through the use of sophisticated virtual laboratory simulation. Subject to any restrictions as a result of COVID-19, you'll also learn how to use cutting-edge equipment such as MALDI-TOF mass spectrometers and flow cytometers.

Our social work degree – which is fully accredited by the Social Work England (SWE) – has been designed and revised to give you the knowledge and professional skills to succeed in the field of social work. Previously, graduates have worked with some of the best dance companies in the UK and further abroad, while others go on to work in choreography, arts administration jobs in world renowned organisations, teaching in the private and public sectors, and further study.

Cellular pathology is the study of structural and functional changes in cells, tissues and organs that underlie disease. It is a dynamic, fast-evolving specialism which saves many lives by providing rational clinical care and therapy in the fight against many serious diseases, particularly cancer.

This course has a strong practical element, with an emphasis on developing the skills needed in a laboratory and gaining hands-on experience of diagnostic techniques. You will be able to study and learn within the University's specialist laboratories which include a modern, well-equipped cell culture facility and fully-equipped proteomics facilities. You'll also learn to use cutting-edge techniques and equipment for cellular and molecular analysis, such as MALDI-TOF mass spectrometers and flow cytometers, DNA sequencing, real-time PCR, electrophoresis and HPLC.
