Build your electronic engineering skills
Electronic engineering has a visible impact on modern life - from smartphones to smart cars, and everything in between. You will design and build complex electronic circuits and systems-on-a-chip using a range of methods and software tools, applying a systems engineering approach to problem-solving, opening up career opportunities wherever automation is involved.

Led by our team of industry experts in high-tech labs, you’ll learn the specialist skills you need to succeed in a variety of roles that range from wireless and digital design and network design to network planning, mobile internet applications and services development.

• There are two honours degree programmes available for each area of study – a three-year Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) and a four-year Master of Engineering (MEng).
• Both degrees share a common first year, but due to the advanced nature of the MEng programme students must demonstrate they have the high-level knowledge and skills required at the end of year 2 and 3 to progress on the programme.
• You must apply direct to either the BEng or the MEng, but you can also choose to change programme. You must apply for the MEng in Year 1 if you want to guarantee your student loan will cover the fourth year of fees.

Build your hands-on practical accounting skills:-

• You’ll build your knowledge through a combination of lectures, workshops and seminars. You’ll also take part in a range of class-based discussions to further develop your skills and understanding.
• We use accounting software such as Zero, Sage and OneSource in our teaching and our state-of-the-art Financial Markets Lab will give you the hands-on experience you'll need to succeed in the profession.
• During your studies, you will have the opportunity to do a paid work placement, either as a year-long project or two shorter placements. Here you’ll get the chance to test and improve your technical skills in the real world, as well as building your soft employability skills such as communication and team work.

The banking and finance industry has become a major end-user and even a major driver of technological innovation, such as machine learning, big data analysis and algorithm trading. This course uniquely combines theory and applications of finance, economics, quantitative methods, and big data analysis to allow you to increase your career opportunities in this fast paced field.

The MSc Banking and Finance is an academically solid programme that provides the foundations of a career in financial services, and in the banking industry. If you want to learn how businesses work and how to manage people, then this is the degree for you. You’ll learn about the theory and practice of how businesses operate and what their environments are like. You’ll also study a variety of management styles, alongside the law and practices related to managing people.

You’ll be supported by a team of tutors who have industry experience. You will be exposed to key HR practices such as hiring practices, HR law, the ethics of employment and other abilities you'll need during your career.

You’ll undertake a work placement so you can apply your skills to a live work setting. Using our industry connections, we'll help you find a role in the HR team of a top company, in an industry relevant to your interests. You can do this over the course of a year or over two summers. Our criminal justice degree approaches the subject from a theoretical, research-informed, and practice-based perspective. The equipment you can use includes the UK’s most advanced 3D motion analysis equipment and a DXA scanning body composition machine, plus many more.

Supporting athletes to perform
During this course you’ll develop the skills needed to support athletes to perform at their peak while reducing the risk of injury. You’ll develop your understanding of biomechanical and physiological theories, as well as your psychological skills.

You’ll integrate professional practice into your studies as you complete 50 hours of placements every year. This is a crucial opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge by working with athletes. The availability of placements is subject to cooperating organisations and we are working closely with our partners to ensure we have as many available as possible even during COVID-19. Due to COVID-19, the total number of placement hours required to pass the module may be altered under the guidance of the Accredited Professional Bodies or the University where applicable.

Mechatronics at Middlesex is available as either a three-year Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) and a four-year Master of Engineering (MEng).

The degrees produce professional and competent multi-disciplinary engineers capable of meeting the challenges and opportunities arising in contemporary industrial and commercial practice. You will focus on developing systems that control physical motion such as those found in robotic applications and industrial automation, using the latest industry hardware and software equipped in our labs and workshops.

BA Digital Media and Communications

Combining theoretical knowledge and practical skills, you gain skills in areas such as new media, video production, website design, culture and more. Practice-based work includes video production (following Government safety guidelines), web design and HTML programming, data visualisation and smart environments. Great emphasis is also given to the management and analysis of social media platforms, with APIs and other sources used to present and assess social data.
