The games industry is  complex and diverse industry that spans a variety of old and new technologies fm print to computer software to 3D printed game pieces. Our BA/BSc in games design gives you the transferable skills and knowledge you need to become a successful games designer in this industry. Led by academic staff experienced in AAA, indie, tabletop and mobile gaming, you'll develop your technology and story development skills, as well as enhancing your game-play design expertise.

Depending on your interests, you will work on the technical side of games design and testing in the BSc, while the BA is focused on experience design and using scripting and games engines to produce satisfying gameplay experiences.

Learning the essential skills you need to start your game design career, you’ll get to grips with the latest software, including Unity, Processing, OpenFrameworks, Maya,Z-Brush, After Effects, Flash, Final Cut Pro and Photoshop. You’ll also develop your skills with our Vicon Motion Capture and Green screen facility.

Recent developments in digital printing have inspired a new generation of printmakers, combining modern and traditional approaches and revolutionising the field. On our MA Printmaking you will develop your own unique approach through practical work, research and critical understanding of your practice. The course will prepare you for working with innovative new materials and applications.

Our MA Fine Art (Printmaking) is a highly practical course that enables you to explore your interests and enhance your skills through experimentation, research and critical analysis. Flexibly designed to meet the ambitions of students from a wide range of creative backgrounds, including illustration, fine art, and design, our course will equip you with the advanced skills, contemporary knowledge and industry insights you need to develop your own practice to a professional standard. You will be taught by a diverse range of printmaking academics and industry professionals in the world-class facilities and specialist workshops in our £80 million Grove building, the home of arts and creative industries at Middlesex. BA Business Management (Innovation and Entrepreneurship)

Not everyone wants to go into an established business and simply fit into the organisation. Some people want to enter a company to shake things up and innovate their product, their brand or how they operate. Other people don’t see themselves working for anyone, have an idea they want to pursue and start their own business.

On our course you can shape your studies to your career ambitions, developing yourself and your skills to innovate products and services in the modern workforce.

During the course, there's an emphasis on applying practice to theory in a business environment. This gives you the opportunity to see how businesses develop their products, manage their operations and innovate in their markets. To this end, a large part of the course is taking part in a work placement so you can apply what you know in a live environment.

You enrol on a four-year course, which includes the one-year foundation course. If you complete this year successfully you progress directly onto one of our three-year degree courses in these subject areas. The number of students who progress to degree study are very high - in fact some of these students have gone on to become some of our most successful graduates.

BA International Politics, Economics and Law

Our course will give you a broad understanding of international political systems, economics and international law while enabling you to carefully consider the ever-evolving international context for maximum relevance.

To study criminology is to embark on a fascinating journey exploring the problem of crime. Learn about its causes and consequences, and investigating how society does and should respond to criminal behaviour in all its forms.
This degree provides an in-depth exploration of crime, criminals, victims and interaction with the Criminal Justice System. It's been designed for those who have an interest in how society responds to deviant behaviour and challenges the concept of social deviancy.

You'll focus on the theoretical concepts and approaches in criminology and their application to contemporary life through studying the impact of social divisions in minorities based on their experiences, interpretations, and representations of crime and criminal justice.

You'll be taught by staff currently involved in researching key issues related to crime and justice, and the findings of their research will influence your learning and research skills. As such, you'll learn to understand the factors that influence criminological research, policy and practice, and learn the fundamental skills of research and analysis.

This course is ideal if you're interested in how society responds to criminal behaviour and the challenges that this provides. Supporting physical and mental health is central in all areas of life and employment. This master's degree integrates the promotion of health and wellness with a focus on mental and physical health. You'll gain the knowledge, clinical practitioner and professional skills you need for a career working with clients and patients in health-related settings. You'll also have the opportunity to undertake hands-on learning through a professional placement (the placement option is not available in the 2020/21 academic year due to COVID-19).

This MSc has been developed for psychology graduates (or a related discipline, such as health studies, counselling, mental health, nursing, or public health) and current health and mental healthcare professionals wishing to further their studies, develop their knowledge and skills and enhance their career opportunities.
