The Foundation Year in Business is taught by the same lecturing staff who teach on our degree courses and you are taught in small group seminars, workshops and lectures. You will be able to develop transferable skills in business, communication and problem-solving.

BA International Tourism Management (Spanish)

Our innovative international tourism course combines theory with practice – with a focus on the latest global trends and developments in international tourism – and a career-enhancing opportunity to learn the fourth widest spoken language in the world.

We have a dedicated International Tourism Industry and Employability module which is delivered by a colleague with extensive managerial experience in the hotel sector. This emphasises the importance we place on employability right from the beginning of the first year.

This course is ideal for those who are interested in how businesses are operated and managed, but who also want to develop their own marketing expertise.

Through workshops, role-plays, problem solving exercises and analysing case studies, you'll learn to communicate your ideas and help to sell your products and services to customers. You’ll also study the key business functions that organisations require for success.

During the marketing section, you’ll take on a range of digital marketing courses. You also have the opportunity to work on a marketing consultancy project where an external client will provide a project brief and you’ll work in a team to provide practical, actionable solutions. Build your banking and finance skills

• Our London location gives you access to some of the industry’s most prestigious companies and influencers. You’ll also have the opportunity to build your professional network and gain hands-on experience through a range of work experience placements.
• Our three-year and four-year study options both give you the chance to develop your practical skills through work experience in the industry. You’ll have the opportunity to take two 18-week summer placements as part of a three-year degree, or a 36-week paid work placement in your third year as part of a four-year approach.

You enrol on a four-year course, which includes the one-year foundation course. If you complete this year successfully you progress directly onto one of our three-year degree courses in these subject areas.
