This three-year apprenticeship programme is ideal to for apprentices employed within local trusts, or healthcare organisations who wish to undertake the BSc Healthcare Science (Cardiac Physiology) and are supported by an employer to undertake the course as an Apprentice.

This BSc apprenticeship will be delivered across each academic year in designated periods of placement learning and study blocks. This model allows the apprentice to gain the advantages of the University resources and support processes, become integrated as a Middlesex University student, and develop a sense of belonging and cohort identity. Placement periods are assessed within their own area of employment according to the National School of Healthcare Science programme requirements.

The modules are delivered through attendance at University, independent study days and a range of planned placement experiences. As students they will be employed within local Trusts or Healthcare organisations as Cardiac Physiologist Degree Apprentices (CPDAs). In order to meet the National School of Healthcare Science requirements, the apprentice will complete planned practice placements within their place of work.

The apprentice will have access to My Learning at module and programme level, and all resources provided within it. These resources allow them to undertake the required pre and post sessional work within each module.

Whilst in practice, the apprentice's learning and assessment are supported and assessed by an identified mentor, who have prepared for the role by the University, for learning and assessment in practice. A range of practice learning experiences are planned in line with National School of Healthcare Science requirements.

This course is accredited by the National School of Healthcare Science.

MA Interiors (Architecture & Design) encourages creative investigation, experimentation and innovation in order to extend your knowledge and skills in the creation of new environments. The potential of the ‘interior’ is explored across a range of contemporary contexts, through field research and interpretation, studio and online workshops, media practices, critical analysis and design. On the course you will develop your individual practice and approach to the design of interior spaces and places.

As public, political and commercial concern grows with the future suitability and sustainability of our urban environments, the need for inspired and innovative leadership in the re-imagining, re-use and transformation of our existing buildings and interiors becomes ever more urgent. This course is structured to allow you to identify and explore your own particular interests within interiors, enabling you to investigate examples of conceptual and spatial manifestation and application.

You will generate propositions to test, demonstrate and explain your approach, and to develop in-depth strategies by which your ideas and proposals can be implemented. You will challenge and redefine what constitutes the 'interior' through experimental learning, prototyping, designing, critical analysis, and narrative techniques. Public Safety and Legal Studies

Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Law

You will learn the principles of the English legal system, and gain reflection through social, political, economic, ethical and historical perspectives. You will also build a range of transferable skills, including abstract thinking and problem solving, that will allow you to prepare practically as well as academically for a successful legal career.

In light of COVID19 and the need to prioritise a safe academic community, we shall be offering a blended learning model that will involve online teaching and learning delivered by our expert academics, until it is safe to start face-to-face teaching. All such decisions will be made in line with Government advice.

Build your hands-on experience while developing your legal skills

  • After you have completed your year one modules, you will have the option to transfer to year two of the LLB, which, on completion will lead to the academic and vocational training required to become a fully qualified solicitor or barrister in England and Wales.
  • You will have use of original council chambers in Hendon Town Hall, featuring a judge's bench and public gallery for mooting and lectures.

Our information systems degree gives you the skills, experience and expertise you need to succeed in the computer-based sector – and beyond.

You’ll get to grips with the specialist equipment, systems and technologies that will give you the experience, expertise and confidence to apply your skills (due to Covid-19, access to the specialist software may be online rather than in on-campus labs). Our degree will prepare you for career paths that range from organisational management and systems architects to chief information officers and enterprise architects.

Build your information systems skills
You’ll have the opportunity to take a year-long, paid work experience placement as part of a four-year study path (subject to securing an organisation that is able to support such a placement during the COVID-19 pandemic). We’ll also give you industry professionals and work experience opportunities to help you further develop your professional skills and network. In the past, our students have taken part in Sky's hackathon which tested their knowledge and team-working skills.

Studying BSc Medical Biochemistry with us will introduce you to new ideas and products that are applied to some of the biggest health problems of today. You’ll study the subject with a focus on human biology and medicine. Core themes will include chemistry, immunology, and molecular biology. How you’ll practise your skills

  • Our course is unique among other medical biochemistry degrees because we focus on getting you work experience throughout your time with us. You’ll have the option of taking a year-long industry placement that’ll help you develop your transferable skills. We also have a work experience module that’ll allow you to increase your chances of employment and practice working in the scientific field. Workplace learning is under the control of our employer partners who may need to restrict access to placement learning in light of the ongoing Covid 19 outbreak.
  • You’ll learn through a series of computer-based sessions, practically focused learnings, and workshops. This mixed learning style will ensure you’re practising your skills in hypothesis formation, data collection, analysis, and interpretation as you learn. In addition, you’ll get the chance to become a member of the Middlesex Biochemical Society and gain experience as part of different research groups.

Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Chemistry (with Sandwich Year)

Combining chemistry with biochemistry, this course will give you a grounding in pharmaceutical chemistry and the skills needed to work in the field.

During the course you’ll cover all aspects of pharmaceutical drug development, such as target identification, synthesis, clinical testing and trials, alongside building your knowledge of the main branches of chemistry.

Our pharmaceutical chemistry course is designed to the standards of the Royal Society of Chemistry. During the course you’ll be taught by an academic team with links to the industry that include GlaxoSmithKline, Novartis, and Johnson Matthey.

Building your chemistry skills in a lab environment

  • Divided into four broad themes, you’ll cover all aspects of chemistry including core chemistry knowledge, practical skills, pharmaceutical knowledge, and numeracy and computational skills. You’ll build your analytical and research skills so you can collect and interpret experimental data.
