BA Honours Interior Design

In both the business and personal worlds, cyber criminals have the ability to cause considerable harm from remote locations, with numerous industry reports* estimating that the global cost of cybercrime has grown to rival that of the illegal drugs trade. From financial theft to child abuse, cybercrime can take many forms, and the need for skilled professionals capable of tackling these problems will only grow as smart, connected devices increasingly become the norm.

This master's degree is designed to provide you with an understanding of the criminological, legal and research context of cybercrime. It is estimated that one in four people seek professional support for a mental health problem and therefore there is high demand for psychological therapies and interventions. This programme is aimed at those who wish to develop careers in psychological therapy or mental health by building on your knowledge, practical skills, experience and confidence when applying for highly competitive roles such as Assistant Psychologist or Clinical Psychology Research Assistant.

This programme will provide you with the academic, practical and research skills you need to continue onto further professional training in clinical psychology, counselling psychology, psychotherapy, clinical research, and health management.

You will be introduced to a range of approaches to psychological therapy and intervention and will be supported to develop a range of therapeutic communication and intervention skills both in workshops and through work experience.

As part of the Masters programme, you will also acquire the knowledge and skills required to critically assess research in therapeutic psychology and to undertake research in a topic that is relevant to psychological therapies or interventions.  You will be taught by staff who are therapy practitioners and researchers in mental health, psychological wellbeing and trauma.

This degree is designed to provide you with an in-depth understanding of crime and criminal justice at national and international levels. It promotes a critical and comparative approach to crime and justice issues intended to equip you with the skills and knowledge required to deal with a range of traditional and non-traditional crime, justice and deviancy issues.

The course looks at contemporary problems such as terrorism and the priorities of global policing, human rights and justice, environmental justice and transnational crime. The international and transnational dimension of crime is an integral part of the programme.

Criminology at Middlesex has a particularly strong international reputation. The Department was pioneering in an in?uential strand of criminology called 'left realism', and established one of the very ?rst courses of its kind in the UK, which is still considered to be one of the leading postgraduate criminology courses.
