The Foundation Year in Performing Arts is taught in our excellent studios and facilities at our Hendon campus by the same lecturing staff who teach on our degree courses. During your fashion communication degree you'll take part in a work placement or equivalent activity, allowing you to spend time in a live work environment in your chosen area of the fashion industry. Cardiac physiology skills are in high demand, and our specialist healthcare course gives you the expertise, skills and practical experience to enter the field of healthcare science.

As Middlesex University is based in London, the centre of classical music activity in the UK, we are perfectly placed to attract high calibre speakers as well as introduce you to a wide range of concerts and cultural activities at internationally renowned classical music institutions such as the Wigmore Hall, Southbank Centre and the Barbican.  You will examine contemporary issues and practices within the classical music industry and obtain a high level of understanding of how organisations are funded through commercial, public, and philanthropic income. This may be dance science, dance education, choreography, dance writing, and so many more. The performance nutrition industry is booming as recreational competitive sport grows increasingly popular, and there has never been a better time to specialise as a sports nutritionist.

Euromonitor report that the UK sports nutrition industry grew by 16 per cent in 2013 and annual growth of nine per cent is forecast until 2018, with product sales alone expected to reach £471 million.

Our masters degree in Sport and Exercise Nutrition was written in consultation with industry-leading experts and employers including the English Institute of Sport (EIS) to maximise the value of the degree to potential employers in elite and professional sport.

Students of the course meet the eligibility criteria for graduate registration with the Sports and Exercise Nutrition Register (SENr) - the leading professional body for performance nutritionists both in the UK and globally.

The course focuses on professional practice and is underpinned by solid scientific and technical foundations. Work placements and practical training are integrated into the course, equipping you with significant experience in a professional setting.

You will learn from some of the UK's most experienced sports nutritionists and study in our industry-standard facilities at Barnet Copthall Stadium, home of Saracens Rugby Club, where we regularly treat elite athletes and sports teams. (Access will be dependent on social distancing requirements due to Covid-19.) This means that the course runs alongside our other postgraduate sport degrees and students can work together to develop their skills as part of a multi-disciplinary team of specialists.

BA Criminology

This course is ideal if you're interested in how society responds to criminal behaviour and the challenges that this provides. Blending theory with practice, you’ll develop your knowledge by exploring key issues related to crime and justice before testing that knowledge through placements (when possible) within criminology-focused organisations and projects.
