The Philosophy with English BA (Hons) allows you to investigate expressions of the central questions in human life. You’ll learn how to deal with these issues in a clear, precise and rigorous way, and will develop skills to deal with abstract critiques and principles and to engage in text-based analysis of the arguments of philosophy and literature.

The study of Art History gives you the opportunity to see and interpret moments in history through their architecture and material culture. The parameters of the Art History major at NCH have been set as widely as possible, from Europe to China, with a time span that extends from antiquity to the contemporary. The courses include cultural surveys as well as more intense media-specific subjects including architecture, landscape, painting and ceramics. The Economics minor enables you to understand and think rigorously about economic theory, and about the causes, consequences and implications of economic events, trends and ideas.

The Politics & International Relations with Art History BSc (Hons) will provide you with knowledge of the kinds of institutions people live under, and how artists and culture have responded to those institutions. You’ll take a course in political theory, questioning not only how these institutions work, but also how thinkers have theorised they ought to work. At the same time, you’ll take a survey course that will provide a broad overview of the history of European art, as well as studying more media-specific courses focusing on paintings, architecture, and so on.

The Philosophy & Cognitive Science BA (Hons) combines a major in Philosophy with dual minors in Data Science and Psychology.

Your major studies in Philosophy will investigate topics including ethics, logic, metaphysics, philosophy of the mind, and the philosophy of science. The Data Science minor explores the techniques underpinning artificial intelligence including coding in Python, machine learning, and natural language processing, as well as theoretical and practical issues surrounding AI and data ethics. The Psychology minor surveys fundamental principles, concepts, experiments, and issues in the major areas of contemporary scientific psychology. Together, these elements provide a very broad and deep foundation in the study of naturally and artificially intelligent systems, and teach the skills required for life and work in the 21st century.

The Politics with Psychology BSc (Hons) combines the study of Politics & International Relations with Psychology.
Your Psychology minor complements these studies by exploring biological, cognitive, and psychosocial areas of contemporary scientific psychology, leading to differences in social behaviours and attitudes and personality dynamics.

This innovative degree allows you to consider how the psychology of individuals shapes government, as well as how sociocultural links affect international relations. In your Law studies, you will learn about the legal forces which constrain how individuals act, and which thus have an impact on the wider societal structures that you will study in Economics. 

Attain your Qualifying Law Degree, plus study Employment Law, and Legal Research and Advocacy, Commercial and Company Law.
