Your Law with History LLB (Hons) will allow you to prepare for your career and follow your passions. In your degree, you will take all of the courses required for a Qualifying Law Degree, preparing you to take the professional training courses for qualification as a solicitor or barrister. Your History minor will further develop your skills of evaluating evidence. In acquiring knowledge of the past, you will reflect critically on the complex and often contradictory information about history that is available to us now.

The English with Art History BA (Hons) will allow you to study the full range of artistic expression. You’ll take courses covering literature from 1550 to the present day, and you’ll explore forms of literature such as political speeches, the plays of Shakespeare, and responses to them.  For your Art History minor, you’ll study different forms of visual art in detail and their aesthetic and cultural contexts. These studies will allow you to make connections between art and the literature you study for your English major.

Through your Economics major, you will learn to develop quantitative skills and study the structures which affect real-life decisions around the world. Your Data Science minor will complement your major by training you to analyse data and effectively extract useful information.

The MSc Responsible Artificial Intelligence is a well-integrated programme of study with a targeted focus on both in theory and in application. Presupposing no background in computing, students are equipped with relevant knowledge and data programming skills, covering not only recent technical developments, but also broader ethical and theoretical considerations.

The option to study philosophical issues of AI whilst pursuing a Masters level computing degree is a unique offering in the UK, allowing students the opportunity to delve on the technical as well as the societal impact of data processing and, in particular, machine learning applications.

The programme allows students to progressively develop their understanding of the techniques of data science, machine learning, and natural language processing, alongside key concepts and methods of computer science, while honing their programming skills in Python and Java; and, at the same time, refine their thinking and communication skills, through humanities courses devoted to a consideration of key practical and theoretical issues, arising in connection with AI.

Studying Economics, you’ll engage with the structures that make for wealth and well-being, as well as learning the quantitative skills needed to engage with academic economics as commonly practised. In your Law studies, you will learn about the legal forces which constrain how individuals act, and which thus have an impact on the wider societal structures that you will study in Economics. 

This degree programme enables you to study Art History and Philosophy for your combined honours degree. The study of Art History gives you the opportunity to see and interpret moments in history through their architecture and material culture. The central aim of the Philosophy minor is to bring clarity and rigour to your thinking and to advance your understanding of, and ability to engage with, fundamental philosophical questions, arguments, theories and texts.

Analyse texts in both a creative and a technical manner and learn to compare different texts and other art forms, while engaging with the theoretical and applied nature of studying law, using your skills of language analysis to make precise arguments about the nature of different legal documents.

The Philosophy, Politics & Economics BA (Hons) at NCH offers three separate pathways to the degree. The Philosophy pathway enables you to study Philosophy as your major subject, comprising 50% of your undergraduate degree, alongside Politics and Economics as joint minors, each of which will form 25% of your degree studies.
