In the Politics & IR minor you will study how humans interact with each other, how they create their institutions, and the different bases societies find for state authority and legitimacy.

Studying the History with Data Science BA (Hons), you will develop both your historical knowledge and your ability to communicate it effectively. The central aim of our PPH program is to increase your understanding of, and ability to engage with, central questions, arguments, and texts in Philosophy, Politics and History, and to provide a lively sense of interrelations between these subjects. With the Philosophy, Politics & History BA (Hons) at NCH, history will be your major and you will study the other two as joint minors. In each year, you’ll study two courses in your major subject, and one course in each of the remaining two minor subjects.

The Art History with History BA will allow you to interpret moments of history as manifested in works of art. Both your major and your minor include surveys of historical periods and their cultures, which are then supplemented by media specific and period specific courses in Art History and History respectively. You’ll learn about painting, ceramics, architecture, and landscapes, alongside broader reflections on the nature of the historical discipline and its applications.

Study the economic and political forces that impact our lives, while also learning to develop your writing skills – allowing you to communicate your economic knowledge effectively. You will have the chance to develop your analytical skills and to apply them to a huge variety of subjects, from analysing poetry, scripts, fiction and nonfiction, to analysing quantitative data and human behaviours.

The Economics with Creative Writing degree aims to prepare students to be educated observers of economic and socio-political processes. The combination of technical and analytical Economics training together with the study of Creative Writing gives students the ability to produce sophisticated economic thoughts and communicate them effectively and appropriately for different audiences.
