The Philosophy with History BA (Hons) enables you to investigate two major traditional methods of viewing the world. In your Philosophy major, you’ll learn about the way people have thought, through rigorously analysing language, critically assessing historical perspectives of the constitution of the world, and going on to create arguments around classic and modern texts with precision and consistent accuracy. In History, you will study the way people have lived, through reflecting on the complex, and often contradictory, information about the past that is available to us now.

Develop the skills to analyse texts and arguments clearly, and with nuance and precision while studying classic texts from antiquity to the present day, which investigate the nature of the world and how we ought to interact with it.

The English with Philosophy BA (Hons) will allow you to develop the skills needed to analyse texts and arguments clearly, and with nuance and precision. In addition to taking period papers focusing on literature from 1550 to the present day, you’ll study rhetoric and stylistics. You will also study classic philosophical texts from antiquity to the present day, which investigate the nature of the world and how we ought to interact with it.

Our English with Psychology BA (Hons) combines the study of English Literature and Psychology.
