The study of Art History gives you the opportunity to see and interpret moments in history through their architecture and material culture. The central aim of the Politics & International Relations minor is to enable you to understand and analyse the relationship between the individual and the state, and the sources of state authority and forms of government.

This degree programme enables you to study Art History and Philosophy for your combined honours degree. Our Economics with Politics & International Relations BSc (Hons) is designed to teach you how to think critically about how the world operates, with a particular focus on governments and political institutions within them. An advanced understanding of economics will give you key insights into political decision-making and policy. Through your major, you will develop quantitative skills to understand and evaluate economic events and decisions in the real world. This will be complemented by your study of political theory, the organisation of government, and international relations for your minor.

The Art History with Data Science BA (Hons) will allow you to study the full range of artistic expression and hone your writing skills. The programme combines cultural surveys with more intense, media-specific subjects including architecture, landscape and painting. Through your Data Science minor, you’ll be able to analyse data to effectively extract useful information.

The Art History with History BA will allow you to interpret moments of history as manifested in works of art. Both your major and your minor include surveys of historical periods and their cultures, which are then supplemented by media specific and period specific courses in Art History and History respectively. You’ll learn about painting, ceramics, architecture, and landscapes, alongside broader reflections on the nature of the historical discipline and its applications.

Explore world culture without geographical or temporal limits, from Europe to China and antiquity to the modern-day while developing an understanding of the social and cultural behaviours which underlie the development of art over time across the world. The Psychology minor explores fundamental principles, concepts, and issues in the major areas of contemporary scientific psychology, which informs your study of Art History by allowing you to dive into the social and cultural behaviours which underlie the development of art over time across the world.

The study of Politics comprises political theory looking at normative questions, and political science looking at the organisation of government. International Relations examines governance, institution-building and decision-making through an analysis of historical phenomena, economic conditions, diplomatic relations, security and socio-cultural linkages among state and non-state sectors.
The Law minor aims to provide a thematic basis to academic legal studies which align to career paths that are attractive to alumni of the College, in particular, careers in which knowledge and understanding of corporate, commercial and employment matters are valuable; provide legal knowledge and skills.
