The course will prepare you for a PhD in the field of environmental/ landscape planning. It will equip you with the knowledge, skills and understanding to pursue a research career. The course is recognised by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) under the 1+3 system (master's plus PhD) for postgraduate studies. This provides UK students with a route to ESRC-funded doctoral study.

BEng or MEng?
Both our BEng degree and specialist MEng degrees provide a pathway to becoming a Chartered Engineer. This is one of the most recognisable international engineering qualifications.

Our MEng degrees are a direct route to becoming a Chartered Engineer (CEng). You don’t need to study any more qualifications after your degree to work towards chartered status.

Our three-year BEng degree can also lead to Chartered Engineer status. However, you’ll need to complete further study, such as an approved master’s degree.

The Film: Theory and Practice MA will give you a sophisticated understanding of films as systems of meaning and practice.

This master's in Film Theory and Practice covers four areas:

• Cinema management: film festival, exhibition culture, marketing

Ecological consultants contribute to the course via informal talks. Practitioners with extensive UK wildlife legislation and wildlife management experience teach on some modules.

All our degrees focus on three core areas – pure mathematics, applied mathematics, and statistics – and you have the flexibility to tailor the combination of these to suit your interests.

On this degree, you will select mostly mathematics modules in the later stages. These include:
