Our three-year Physics degree provides a strong understanding of the fundamental pillars of physics and a thorough grounding in advanced mathematics. Guided by our world-leading academics, you'll study cutting edge physics modules in relativity, cosmology, and electromagnetism, preparing you to contribute to the technological advances of modern society.  

Hands-on experience in our high-spec facilities will develop your practical skills for a wide range of physical science careers.

You'll explore physics in the natural universe, including astrophysics, quantum mechanics, and particle physics, as well as the physics that underpins emerging technologies.

You spend two-thirds of your time studying mathematics and statistics, and one-third studying topics in accountancy and corporate finance in Newcastle University Business School.

Alongside core modules from our mathematics and statistics programmes, you will take specialist topics with financial applications, such as financial modelling.

This is complemented by corporate finance modules, including interpreting company accounts and international finance management.

If you don't have mathematics and/or science at the appropriate level to apply for our Engineering degrees, this course is for you. If you have proven ability in other subjects, it gives you the opportunity to develop the knowledge you need to apply to an engineering degree here.

This course is also appropriate if you have technical or vocational qualifications or are from a different educational system.

This four-year Linguistics with German degree concentrates on developing your understanding of how we communicate, and the growth of language in the brain. You'll explore linguistics in the context of English and German language. You'll focus on the structure, history and social aspects of the English language and language in general, building a foundation of skills and knowledge to pursue many career paths.

Building your fluency in German alongside your study of linguistics will give you a unique perspective on the language. You will study German from intermediate or advanced level depending on your previous experience.

In your third year, you'll immerse yourself in German culture as you spend the year in Germany, further improving your language skills and confidence, and gaining a first-hand appreciation for the language in context.

This Landscape Architecture course will improve your ability to think critically about the design of place and space. You'll develop advanced skills to deal with complex aspects of landscape design and planning in a creative and innovative way.
