Sport and exercise psychologists work with athletes, either as individuals or as teams. They develop strategies that improve performance. We will prepare you with the skills and knowledge to develop better performance in individual and team-based sports.

Newcastle University is the first Russell Group University to develop an MSc in Sport and Exercise Psychology. We have expert academics and clinical staff from the Faculty of Medical Sciences.

You'll develop your understanding of psychology in a sport and exercise context. This includes the theory, evidence and practice. You’ll gain the knowledge and skills to become a reflective practitioner. We'll prepare you for further professional training. This is a route towards eligibility to practice as a sport and exercise psychologist.

• Careers in sport and exercise psychology
• Higher research-related degrees (for example a PhD)

Political and environmental influences are impacting the types and uses of plants in food production and eco-systems management. Limitations on the use of synthetic herbicides and growth pattern regulators are changing the management strategies available.

Graduates of this applied agri-biological degree will be well placed for a wide range of careers in this vital and developing sector; including plant genetics, bio-chemical research, and agronomy.

On this degree you can select options with a cellular and molecular emphasis underpinning fundamental understanding of plant physiology.

You may take optional modules dealing with a range of applied or associated topics to provide you with the knowledge and insights needed for example to manage crops;

• In agricultural systems
• Conservation grassland
• Woodlands, or
• To develop new approaches and products to control pests and diseases.

You will have the opportunity to take a year's work placement to develop your work based skills, usually taken in research or in the plant science sector.

Choosing from a range of specialist modules, you can tailor your degree to cover particular nations, international organisations, security and foreign policy, and international political economy. This is an individually tailored research master's degree designed for graduates with a good background in linguistics and/or English language.

Our research master's in English Language and/or Linguistics is largely based around your own research interests. We'll prepare you for further research within and beyond academia. You'll be fully supported by experts situated in one of the largest centres for linguistics research in Europe.

The individually tailored course contains some taught modules. It mostly consists of smaller, independently conducted research assignments and a larger research dissertation at the end. The topics are chosen by you, in consultation with your supervisor.

Our industry-recognised qualification helps to fast-track your career, so you can apply for direct entry into the UK Voluntary Register of Nutritionists as soon as you graduate.

Our degree curriculum is informed by research, which ensures you're learning about the most up-to-date and relevant theories, along with the latest discoveries in the industry.
