About Software Engineering

Reliable software is fundamental to almost all of our use of technology, from the embedded systems that make a washing machine work to the flight controllers on a passenger jet.

Working alongside programmers who have in-depth knowledge of writing code, software engineers understand and oversee the development of these systems, requiring strong computing science, project management and problem-solving skills.

This degree focuses on the effect of nutrition on the functioning of the human body in health and disease. It equips you with specialist knowledge and skills in preventing, treating and managing ill health with food, nutrients and dietary change.

This is the first undergraduate Dietetics programme in the North East of England. You'll benefit from newly built, state-of-the-art facilities and our world-class research. Dietetics is a broad-based subject and you'll study topics ranging from the natural and clinical sciences through to the social sciences. The Media and Society (Research) MA is a research master’s course. This makes it ideal preparation for a PhD.

The MA can be taken as a standalone course before undertaking PhD study. It also forms the initial training component for the four-year (MA plus PhD) ESRC Northern Ireland/ North East (NINE) Doctoral Training Centre. The Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) recognises the MA as a research master's award.

The course covers key elements of media analysis skills. It explores a range of theoretical approaches in media, communication, cultural and social studies.

Our Mechanical Engineering MEng Honours is a four-year degree. The course explores a range of mechanical engineering topics. You'll graduate equipped with the multidisciplinary skills needed to succeed anywhere in engineering. Our degree also provides a direct route to Chartered Engineer status.

The Foundations in Clinical Psychology master's degree offers world-class tuition and pastoral support. From this, you'll gain key knowledge and understanding. You may be an intercalating MBBS student.
