Our History master's teaches the methods and concepts used by historians. Study the periods and subjects in history that most interest you.

This MA History is very flexible. You can study the periods and subjects in history that most interest you.

You can study political, social, economic and cultural history and the history of medicine, from 500 AD to the present. Study topics cover more than one geographical area:

Chemical Engineering MEng Honours is a four-year degree. It focuses on developing your knowledge and skills across many chemical engineering topics. Its aim is to provide a direct route to becoming a Chartered Chemical Engineer (CEng). This is one of the industry's most recognisable international qualifications.

You'll deepen your knowledge in more advanced topics during your fourth year. You'll specialise in a field that interests you. This enables you to graduate in your chosen specialism tailored to your career of choice. Specialisms include:

BEng or MEng?
Both our BEng degree and specialist MEng degrees provide a pathway to becoming a Chartered Engineer. This is one of the most recognisable international engineering qualifications.

Our MEng degrees are a direct route to becoming a Chartered Engineer (CEng). You don’t need to study any more qualifications after your degree to work towards chartered status.

Our three-year BEng degree can also lead to Chartered Engineer status. However, you’ll need to complete further study, such as an approved master’s degree.

This four-year Master of Speech and Language Science MSpeech Honours degree focuses on developing your leadership and research skills. This will enable you to consider the role of the speech and language therapist, including as a future leader of the profession.

You will gain a thorough understanding of all areas necessary to undertake speech and language therapy practice, through case-based teaching – where you'll discuss real-life scenarios – and high levels of clinical work.

You will study core modules in speech and language pathology. These include causes, diagnosis, assessment and treatment of a range of speech, language, communication and swallowing disorders in adults and children.

Clinical experience during every year of the course will allow you to put this theory into practice, providing you with a scientifically orientated, and theoretical understanding, of Speech and Language Therapy. This ensures you graduate a confident, competent and highly skilled speech and language therapist.

You will study a broad curriculum for two years, before learning about the development of embedded software systems that are fundamental to almost all our use of technology.

Explore different aspects of computing science – such as games design, bioinformatics, and security – in your first two years.

Spend a year on an accredited, paid industrial placement between Stages 2 and 3.

About Software Engineering

Reliable software is fundamental to almost all of our use of technology, from the embedded systems that make a washing machine work to the flight controllers on a passenger jet.

Working alongside programmers who have in-depth knowledge of writing code, software engineers understand and oversee the development of these systems, requiring strong computing science, project management and problem-solving skills.

You study wide-ranging agriculture topics in your first two years, exploring plant biology, soil science, nutrition, management, accounting and law. In your third year, you specialise in farm business management. You will explore management techniques used for decision-making in agricultural businesses. Core modules develop your skills in:
