This is a flexible degree with optional units to choose from in Years 2 and 4. In your first year, you’ll study with Management and International Management students. You’ll benefit from learning in a diverse class with students who have different backgrounds and ambitions.

Placement Year

Use your knowledge to specialise in an evolving area of technology and develop the management skills to play a part in the future of the automotive industry.

Our course teaches you how to use the knowledge from your first degree to further your education and specialise in automotive technology. You’ll combine your studies in technology with business and management theory to meet the current and future needs of the automotive sector.

At the start of your course, you’ll be set a topical automotive theme to carry through into group projects. This ensures the subject-based units are current and relevant to professional practice in the industry. It also gives you the benefit of a personalised learning pathway. We’ll introduce you to key scientific principles in automotive technology and give you specialist insight into the subject to help you build on your existing skills. Your studies will cover some of the leading areas of development in industry such as advanced propulsion systems, sustainable mobility and innovation for a zero-carbon economy.

This course will appeal if you want to combine an understanding of the social world from different perspectives with a rigorous analysis of policy responses to social problems. You will examine theory and techniques from sociology alongside the analytical focus of social policy.

Intelligent and autonomous systems are increasingly important in all areas of our lives, from medicine and space exploration to agriculture and entertainment. Machine learning is at the heart of these systems, including computer vision and robotics. It also underpins the recent developments in data analytics across many fields.

Understanding and developing autonomous systems involves a range of skills and knowledge including designing interactive systems with both human and machine elements, and modelling and building systems that can sense and learn. Gain a broad education in chemistry and business ready for careers in science or management.

This course allows you to combine your love of chemistry with an interest in how business works. Our MA Translation with Business Interpreting (Chinese) is a highly competitive master's, ideal for those with an interest and aptitude for translation or business interpreting.

You may already be working as a translator and interpreter in mainland China, Taiwan, the UK or elsewhere, or looking to establish yourself with the specialist skills needed to excel in this profession.

The focus of the course is on written translation from English to Chinese and Chinese to English, as well as business interpreting between English and Chinese.
