Therefore, FinTech professionals are required to have analytical and critical thinking skills which help them find creative solutions to such problems.

This course develops skills in core biomedical, chemical and forensic sciences, helping you become a skilled forensic practitioner.

The smart grid is a modern form of the traditional power grid, which brings computer technology to a standard electricity grid; allowing easier communication between energy retailers, distributors, and customers.

Smart grids can help to integrate an increasing amount of renewable energy sources (RES) into the grid. RES present a challenge to traditional electricity grids because they are often both intermittent and difficult to predict. Smart grids help network companies to remotely anticipate and respond to problems so repair crews from your local distributor can fix power outages faster.

Energy companies and businesses are already exploring how to adopt RES into the grid but they lack Smart Grids management skills and knowledge among employees. The Master’s in International Accounting and Finance is designed to equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills of the fundamental principles of financial management which are relevant to global business, in order to enhance their operational effectiveness in this particular area or to serve as preparation for further study or an academic career.

The programme covers areas such as financial management within banks, and regulation and finance functions within generalist and non-finance firms such as FMCGs (consumer goods firms). The focus is on key elements of corporate finance, banking, economics, regulation, international finance, portfolio management and applied quantitative methods. The aim is to produce ethically responsible specialists who have a strong financial and banking perspective in relation to corporate activity, pension funds, investment funds and international financial markets.

Throughout the programme, there will an intensive use of the financial software packages that are most widely utilised in industry, and students will obtain advanced training in the use of these packages. 

This course will provide you with a systematic understanding of economic approaches to development and in particular, the role of finance and financial institutions. Students will be able to evaluate the merits of the various mechanisms of financing development and to understand the bases for financial policy.

During the course you will develop the skills required for the analysis of development issues, and to understand the interlinkages between statistics and econometrics, and develop expertise on international trade and exchange rate policies and related economic matters. Additionally, students have the opportunity to study a range of options covering project and programme management, public policy, and development policy.

The MA in Peace, Conflict and Development Studies provides an advanced understanding of the inter-relationships between conflict, development, security, and governance in developing, fragile, transitional and/or conflict affected regions and countries.
