This is an exciting time to be involved in cancer therapeutics. Based upon a greater understanding of the molecular aspects of cancer, new opportunities for therapeutic intervention have emerged that are effectively 'target orientated'. These new therapeutics are quite distinct from the classical chemotherapeutic agents and they offer the prospect of truly selective cancer therapies that are tailored towards the individual patient's tumour. Cancer pharmacology plays a key role in drug development. In both the laboratory and the clinic, cancer pharmacology has had to adapt to the changing face of drug development by establishing experimental models and target orientated approaches.

The programme is designed to provide you with a 'state-of-the-art' course in modern cancer pharmacology that meets the demand of employers and provides an expert view of the available cancer medicines and the development of new cancer therapies.

Our MSc in Archaeological Sciences gives graduates in Archaeology and related subjects a systematic training in the application of modern scientific methods.

It gives you the practical, analytical and interpretative skills you need to apply a wide range of specialist approaches, preparing you not only for research in archaeological science but also to pursue career opportunities in all areas of mainstream archaeology.

You can use the course to obtain broad expertise in the field, or to specialise in areas such as:

• Environmental Archaeology, covering environmental change, subsistence and health through studies of animal bones, plant remains and biomarkers in human and non-human hard tissue.
• Landscape Archaeology, focusing on understanding and interpreting landscapes in the past using prospection methods, visualisation and GIS.
• Chronology and Biomolecules, specialising in the use of physical, chemical and biomolecular methods to study and date both human remains and artefacts.

A full-time Master's degree designed to produce fully rounded managers with an emphasis on finance. You’ll focus on how a business creates and measures value, and how to approach accounting and finance from a strategic perspective.

The programme combines finance and accounting with a detailed examination of other disciplines required for the management of organisations. This also allows you to consider financial decision-making from multiple perspectives. You will be able to apply your knowledge and skills gained from these disciplines in your final dissertation.

On graduation you will then need to successfully complete a 1-year pre-registration period in order to become a qualified pharmacist. Alternatively you can choose our unique 5-year Mpharm programme, which enables you to undertake your pre-registration training as part of the programme. This course will provide you with a systematic understanding of economic approaches to development and in particular, the role of finance and financial institutions. Students will be able to evaluate the merits of the various mechanisms of financing development and to understand the bases for financial policy.

During the course you will develop the skills required for the analysis of development issues, and to understand the interlinkages between statistics and econometrics, and develop expertise on international trade and exchange rate policies and related economic matters. Additionally, students have the opportunity to study a range of options covering project and programme management, public policy, and development policy.

Our LLB programme is flexible in structure and has core first and second years including all seven law foundation subjects. The MSc in Psychology offer a fast-track route to eligibility for Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership with the British Psychological Society, provided a minimum standard of 50% is achieved.

This means that applicants will normally already have studied some psychology at undergraduate level in a previous degree programme and now wish to undertake further study in order to allow the opportunity for specialisation in psychology in the future.

This is therefore the first step towards further postgraduate training for those wanting to pursue a professional career in Psychology.

You will be given the opportunity to engage in practical work and will use the extensive psychological laboratory provision in the Division of Psychology. You will also be given the opportunity to engage in advanced theoretical debates relevant to the understanding of contemporary issues in society.
