The MA Advanced Practice in Peacebuilding and Conflict Resolution is offered by the internationally recognised Department of Peace Studies and International Development, drawing on over 40 years of experience as a leading centre of peace research and education.

The programme will develop your understanding of the causes and dynamics of social conflict, with a strong focus on case-study analysis. It will allow you to develop informed judgements about when and how to engage constructively with conflict, recognising the strengths and limitations of different approaches to intervention. This degree is at the cutting edge of development theory, policy and management. It provides students with the critical and analytical skills to enable them to operate effectively in international development environments. Covering macro and micro level perspectives, the course offers rich insights into the challenges of contemporary development theory, policy and management. The course is structured around the compulsory core modules of International Development Theory and International Development Policy, with flexibility built in through the optional course units chosen by students to meet their own objectives and interests.

The objectives of the course are to provide an integrated, cross-disciplinary framework for the postgraduate study of development. The unifying focus of the course is the analysis of strategies for overcoming poverty. Students will gain knowledge of different development paradigms and an awareness of their evolution. Students are encouraged to develop comparative perspectives (between different regions/countries, disciplinary approaches, schools of thought) and through individual study, seminars and written assignments to develop their knowledge and critical and analytical skills in this field.

This three-year Virtual and Augmented Reality degree programme is one of the first of its kind in the UK.

You’ll first learn the principles that underpin computer science, giving you a strong technical foundation on which to build. The programme shares a common first year with our computer science programmes, enabling you to transfer between programmes at the end of the first year if interests or career aspirations emerge in other areas.

The University of Bradford and Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust have joined together to offer a Harrogate Pathway with the aim to recruit locally and therefore develop a sustainable workforce.

This pathway may be of interest to local people with commitments in the area, especially more mature applicants with dependants who may find traveling further afield difficult.

By providing all but one of the practice placements within the Trust we are offering a long term relationship to students. This is also reflected within our commitment agreement.

The pathway is advantageous to the Trust as newly registered practitioners who have followed the pathway will be familiar with the Trust policies and processes as well as having developed working relationships with existing staff.
