This taught postgraduate program is research-led and will draw heavily on academic literature. It will build on your existing knowledge of technical aspects of accounting and finance. The final part of the MSc is a research-based dissertation, which involves identifying and analysing a research question in accounting and/or finance under the guidance of a member of staff. This highly successful MSc program is designed for students who want to put greater emphasis on accounting, finance and management topics in their graduate studies. The programme is academically rigorous and tailored to the needs of the current business environment.

In the first term you will develop key skills and a grounding in accounting, finance and management. This will prepare you for the more advanced units taught in the second term. You will study four core units and then be able to choose one optional unit from each of the key subject areas of accounting, finance and management and one additional optional unit from the research method section.

The final part of the MSc is a project-based dissertation of between 10,000 and 15,000 words. Options for dissertation subject areas are provided and you will be able to choose from a set of dissertation topics in these broader areas. Many of the dissertations are literature-based and you are expected to acquire and use literature search skills with a range of electronic and traditional sources.

This course is ideal for students interested in learning more about how to use numbers and data within politics. No prior knowledge of statistical techniques is required.

About two thirds of your studies will follow the single honours BSc Politics and International Relations. You will study the politics of individual countries and governments and the relationships between countries, communities and individuals. You will become familiar with different views and methods of analysis, learning to apply and evaluate them.

The remaining third of your course will provide interdisciplinary training in quantitative methods. In year one of the quantitative pathway we discuss how numbers and data are used to tell convincing stories in the media and social research. We consider what is meant by segregation and how it can be mapped and measured. You will undertake your own individual research project in an area of quantitative social science during your fourth year back in Bristol.

Neuroscience is beginning to influence education across the world. This program, which can be studied on either a full-time or part-time basis, will provide you with the skills and understanding to interrogate and integrate insights from neuroscience and education.

You will become an active researcher who draws on findings from neuroscience, psychology, genetics and educational research in order to carry out your own small-scale experiments and research studies, leading to the major work of your dissertation.

You will also complete a range of assignments that encourage written, graphical and oral communication of your ideas. You will become part of a broader community of study and research in the field of neuroscience and education through lectures, seminars, tutorials and workshops. The program will help you to gain confidence in making critical judgments about research findings, and in debating and discussing issues or ideas in the field of neuroscience and education.

This four-year degree combines years one, two and four of our MEng Aerospace Engineering with the chance to spend your third year at an English-speaking partner university overseas.

The first two years cover underpinning material organised into three streams:

• Aerodynamics
• Dynamics and control
• Structures and materials.

Specialised from day one, these subjects are taught with aerospace applications and examples. Further material, such as space applications and aviation operations, is covered in specialist units.

You will also learn skills that cross all three streams, such as computing, systems engineering and design.

If you achieve the required grades in your first two years you will spend your third year at a European institution where your studies will match the third year at Bristol.

You will return to Bristol for your fourth year and choose from a range of options. Some options relate to particular application areas, such as helicopter aerodynamics, space systems or wind power. Others study particular technologies, such as composites analysis or experimental aerodynamics, or you can choose to undertake a research project.
