You will explore the full range of plant biology, from enzymes to ecosystems. You will gain knowledge of the diversity, evolution and function of plants and of the latest developments in functional genomics, bioinformatics, plant developmental biology, plant pathology, parasite biology, cell signalling, pollination biology, ecology, plant conservation and systems biology.

About two thirds of your studies will follow the single honours BSc Politics and International Relations. You will study the politics of individual countries and governments and the relationships between countries, communities and individuals. The remaining third of your course will provide interdisciplinary training in quantitative methods. You will undertake your own individual research project in an area of quantitative social science during your fourth year back in Bristol.

The course is designed for students who seek to broaden their knowledge on the economy and understand the linkage with accounting. Therefore, it combines two courses, economics and accounting.

The economics aspect provides students with insight into economic institutions (eg banks), actors, and policies that underpin and influence the financial market. The accounting aspect explores accounting institutions (eg audit firms), accounting regulations, and accounting techniques that are used by and support organisations that actively participate in and outside the market.

This course is unique as it offers students access to an interdisciplinary perspective that includes psychology and sociology. BSc Chemistry with Scientific Computing combines study of the structure and synthesis of matter with development of computational and data analysis skills. This integrated economics and management degree allows you to study both disciplines to a high level.

Your first year and half of your second year comprise mandatory units which will give you a solid grounding in both disciplines. This content is fixed to ensure that you have a depth of understanding which will enable you to explore what you find most interesting later on.

Half of your second year is made up of optional units, as is your entire final year.
