This pathway is designed for those with an interest in teaching and learning and working with learners in educational settings across the sector. It is particularly suitable if you already hold master's-level credits from a teaching qualification, such as a PGCE, and want to build on this foundation for your professional development.

In common with other MSc Education students, you will take the compulsory research methods unit, Introduction to Educational Inquiry, and write a dissertation. You will also take the compulsory unit, Contemporary Perspectives in Learning, which is core to your pathway. You can choose the rest of your units from across the programs offered by the school. Your final choice of units will be made after consulting with tutors so that your choice is as coherent and useful as possible, as well as suiting your individual needs.

Bachelor of Science in Applied Anatomy

Our teaching philosophy delivers a practical, hands-on and student-centred approach to all aspects of learning. The course will facilitate your journey from school leaver to independent critical thinker and anatomist.

Year one introduces the principles of comparative anatomy and the structure of the major mammalian body systems. Teaching involves some dissection and study of human and animal prosected cadaveric specimens.

Year two covers detailed medical and veterinary anatomy and allows you to specialise in medical or veterinary anatomy by dissection. Units in the second year emphasise clinical relevance and application throughout.

In year three you will follow a seminar-based course in which you will be actively involved in expert-led discussion of the latest anatomical research. The key focus of this year is an original research project aligned to your future ambitions. Our course in research skills will give you all the tools you need to complete your project.

This course combines politics and international relations with the study of Italian. This provides a valuable skill set ideally tailored to the increasingly globalised workplace.

You will study the politics of individual countries and governments and the relationships between countries, communities and individuals.

Politics is organised around three themes:

This course combination offers an enriching experience, with exciting intellectual challenges, in two schools with strong reputations for teaching and research. By studying these two social sciences you will develop a deep understanding of global markets and political systems.

Economics study is based on a series of core units in the first and second years covering micro- and macro-economics, mathematics, statistics and econometrics. This lays the foundation for you to specialise in your third year in the areas of economics that most interest you. Popular unit topics include Development Economics, Behavioural Economics, History of Economic Thought and International Economics.

You will also study the politics of individual countries and governments and the relationships between countries, communities and individuals. Politics is organised around three themes: political theory, comparative and national politics, and international relations. In addition to compulsory units, which will give you a solid grounding in politics, you will have access to a range of units that are closely linked to staff research interests and thus unique to Bristol.

Politics units may include subjects such as, international relations, political economy, UK politics, US politics, gender, security and conflict. There is a strong emphasis on research skills, with the possibility to complete a dissertation in the final year.

We offer you the opportunity to extend your degree to four years, spending your third year studying economics in English at a university in Europe or farther afield before returning to Bristol for your final year. Our intensive one-year MSc Management with a specialism in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Sustainability is for graduates from a wide range of subject backgrounds. It is not necessary to have any prior academic or practical experience in business or management. This program is for students who aspire to management-level and CSR- and sustainability-related roles within their chosen industry.

Our MSc Management pathways provide an introduction to management followed by a detailed exploration of a specific area of management theory and practice, in this case CSR and Sustainability. The program attracts students from around the globe and you will work with students with different backgrounds and interests.

Students will develop an in-depth understanding of the theories and practices that underpin CSR and Sustainability in today’s organisations. You will critically evaluate areas including global and social challenges to business, sustainable production and consumption, stakeholder management and engagement, and business ethics.

Our lecturers are passionate about their subject, with modules informed by cutting-edge research in fundamental mathematical abstractions, statistics and practical applications to global problems. You may be able to try units in quantum mechanics or mathematical biology, or take the opportunity to mentor and learn from students studying the same subject overseas.

This is applied psychology degree uses psychological research methods to understand and interpret social and human behaviour in the context of education, wherever and whenever it happens throughout people’s lives. As with our BSc Education Studies, education is conceptualised as lifelong and in many different contexts.

The British Psychological Society accreditation means that successful students are eligible to apply for professional training as a psychologist.

Students acquire valuable skills spanning two rapidly changing disciplines that inform each other. You will apply psychological theory and research to real-life educational settings involving children, adolescents and adults.

The course currently includes an optional placement unit, Education in Practice, where you will have the opportunity to connect your academic learning with the practice of education on a placement within a school, community organisation, charity, museum or other relevant organisation.
