This is a challenging one-year taught master’s degree focused on advanced topics in communication networks (fixed and wireless) and related signal processing, including associated enabling technologies. It provides an excellent opportunity to develop the skills needed for careers in some of the most dynamic fields in communication networks.

This program builds on the internationally recognised research strengths of the Communications Systems and Networks, High Performance Networks and Photonics & Quantum research groups within the Smart Internet Lab. The groups conduct pioneering research in a number of key areas, including network architectures, cross-layer interaction, high-speed optical communications and advanced wireless access.

The program includes units on Optical Networks and Data Centre Networks. Optical Networks focuses on wavelength division multiplexed (WDM) networks, time division multiplexed (TDM) networks including SDH/SONET and OTN, optical frequency division multiplexed networks, and optical sub-wavelength switched networks. Data Centre Networks focuses on networks for cloud computing, cloud-based networking, grid-computing and e-science. There is a further networking unit: Networked Systems and Applications, which provides a top-down study of a networking system support for distributed applications, from classical web and email to telemetry for the Internet of Things.

The program is accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology, one of only a handful of accredited program in this field in the UK.

Our LLM in Human Rights Law reflects an area of law that is critical in providing the frameworks necessary to protect the dignity of human beings around the world. It offers you an opportunity to graduate and meet a growing demand for specialist lawyers that have human rights experience and knowledge – and a determination to tackle human rights violations.

The LLM in Human Rights Law offers in-depth, intensive study of institutions and mechanisms at the international and regional levels, as well as more specialist areas such as employment law, mental health law and law around migrant workers, with a variety of related optional units to choose from.

Our teaching philosophy delivers a practical, hands-on and student-centred approach to all aspects of learning. The course will facilitate your journey from school leaver to independent critical thinker and anatomist.

Year one introduces the principles of comparative anatomy and the structure of the major mammalian body systems. Teaching involves some dissection and study of human and animal prosected cadaveric specimens.

Year two covers detailed medical and veterinary anatomy and allows you to specialise in medical or veterinary anatomy by dissection. Units in the second year emphasise clinical relevance and application throughout.

In year three you will follow a seminar-based course in which you will be actively involved in expert-led discussion of the latest anatomical research. Our intensive, one-year, MSc Management with a specialism in Project Management is for graduates from a wide range of subject backgrounds. It is not necessary to have any prior academic or practical experience in business or management. It will especially suit students pursuing management careers in manufacturing and production, consultancy, construction, product development or ICT.

Our MSc Management pathways provide an introduction to management followed by a detailed exploration of a specific area of management theory and practice, in this case Project Management. The MSc will develop an in-depth understanding of project management within a broad range of organisations.
