Our LLM programmes, including the LLM in International Law, are well-respected by leading law firms*. This programme explores the pressures that arise from particular areas of international law and international policy, and the role of law in setting the framework for decision-making and as a tool for achieving policy goals. The programme also covers issues with private international law through specialist units in International Commercial Litigation, Arbitration a range of commercial law units.

This innovative program explores the link and tensions between development and security concerns in theory and practice. Specifically, it builds on the unique combination of expertise and experience in the School of Sociology, Politics and International Studies to:

• Examine the nature of violent conflict in the world today and the international community's response to it;
• Locate this analysis in a comprehensive theoretical understanding of wider development and security studies, debates and controversies, particularly in relation to evolving patterns of global governance;
• Explore these issues and dilemmas through contemporary, empirical case studies.

Suitable for graduates with any degree who have some quantitative training, this interdisciplinary programme provides comprehensive training across the business-relevant disciplines with a strong focus on real-world applications. The program gives you with knowledge and skills to address the strategic challenges that face modern businesses and organisations that operate in competitive national and global markets. 

Second term courses are grouped into two pathways – Strategy and Business or International Economics and Finance – or students have the flexibility to choose their own units.

The first two years of the course are identical to our single honours mathematics degrees, providing a broad background in pure, applied and statistical mathematics which underpins more advanced material later.

Year one consists of compulsory topics. In your second year you can start to shape your degree; choose from an extensive range of topics that most interest you.

Provided you fulfil progression requirements, you will spend your third year abroad at one of our partner universities. This course is different to 'with Study Abroad in a Modern Language' as you will study in English and are not required to learn a foreign language. Shape your degree to suit your interests and pick from an extensive range of topics alongside your core units in Financial Mathematics and Financial Risk Management.

The first year provides a broad background in pure, applied and statistical mathematics via a range of compulsory units. You'll cover material in lectures and small-group tutorials, with the freedom to explore a range of topics in collaboration with your personal tutor and fellow students.

From year two you will focus more on units that relate to statistics for use in finance, although there is still scope to take some units from other areas.

As you move through the course you will gain academic independence, moving from small-group tutorial teaching in year one to an optional, independent project in your final year.

This MSc conversion program is accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS). It is designed for students from non-psychology backgrounds and provides training in the theories and methods of contemporary psychological science. After successfully completing the program, you will be eligible for the Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership of the BPS, which is a prerequisite for pursuing a career in psychology.

You will learn the theories of social, cognitive, developmental, biological and individual differences psychology, and develop the skills to understand and apply the research on which these theories are based. You will also learn how to design research studies and analyse data to provide valid answers to meaningful psychological research questions.

In your dissertation, you will combine these skills and knowledge to develop, carry out and report on a substantial piece of original, empirical research.

Teaching and dissertation supervision is undertaken by internationally renowned academics, who employ a variety of teaching and assessment methods (eg lectures, seminars, tutorials, laboratories, essays, reports, examinations). These methods help you to develop transferable skills, such as critical thinking, psychological and scientific literacy, research skills, teamwork, and oral and written communication skills, which are valued by employers across a wide range of industries. They also help to prepare you for further postgraduate study in psychology.
