Cyberphysical systems integrate computation with physical objects and processes. Examples of cyberphysical systems are:

• 'Smart' devices in the home such as a smart meter or fridge
• Voice assistant devices
• Driverless vehicles
• Medical monitoring equipment
• Wearable devices
• Robotic assistants

Our course is designed for students with a background in computer science or a related field with analytical skills. You'll learn the principles of integrated system design and computational and cyberphysical systems methods and tools. Core modules will broaden your knowledge in key topics such as artificial intelligence, robotics and cybersecurity.

During the summer period, you will undertake an individual research project. This could be software-based or research-based. Collaboration with business, industry, and other outside bodies is encouraged.

We develop students to become confident sport rehabilitators, equipped with the knowledge, skills and flexibility to work independently across a range of sporting, health, rehabilitation and exercise environments.

Accredited by the British Association of Sport Rehabilitators and Trainers (BASRaT), our BSc Sport Rehabilitation develops your practical skills to work with patients and athletes of all ages to rehabilitate them following injury.

We are committed to developing sport rehabilitators within a supportive, nurturing environment. You will work across key areas of injury prevention, health, wellbeing and sporting performances, designing and implementing exercise and rehabilitation programmes for your clients.

Our MA Education allows you to consider education in all of its complexity, as something that both reflects and works to construct different aspects of our social lives and the way our society is organised.

This course aims to strengthen and refine your ability to critically reflect upon your own teaching. You will engage with contemporary theories in education and examine how you might apply them to the practice you carry out. Artificial intelligence is changing our homes, workplaces and lifestyles. Our course lets you explore this subject with optional modules in user experience design, autonomous systems, and machine learning.

You'll take part in a group project in year two which prepares you for creating the computer systems of the future. Many projects are in collaboration with industry. Previous students have worked with Capital One, Experian, IBM and UniDays. This is great for your CV and can help you make contacts ready for you to start your career. 

The industry year lets you to take what you've learned and apply it to real projects in industry. Placements may be paid and can even lead to a job offer before you've graduated.

This course is available to students with or without a first degree in computer science.

• Automated algorithm design
• Collaborative live mobile video streaming systems for sports events

If you choose to focus your study and research in the field of AI, you can graduate with a degree titled ‘MSc Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence)’.

You can fast-track your accounting career with our BSc Accountancy Flying Start degree. It's been developed in partnership with ICAEW and PwC, where you’ll spend three to four months on paid work placement in your second, third and fourth years, assisting on real client work.

You’ll get a solid grounding in fundamental disciplines including business finance, financial and management accounting, and business law. In addition, many of the modules you will study carry accreditation towards the ACA accountancy qualification.

You can follow your individual interests and career aspirations by selecting from optional modules alongside your core subjects. You could choose from areas such as entrepreneurship, risk management and corporate governance.
