This one-year conversion MSc is designed for graduates from a wide range of disciplines and experience. It gives you skills in data analytics, computing and business. Using sophisticated analytics techniques, including social network visualisation and sentiment analysis, and professional software, including R tidyverse, Python, C# and SQL/NoSQL, you gain the skills and knowledge to transform data into commercial value and boost your employability

During your MSc year, you take four core modules, two optional modules depending upon your interests, and complete a masters-level project over
the summer. Student projects can be on data analytics, computing or business and can be a multidisciplinary mix of these areas. Throughout the programme you learn how to master sophisticated analytics techniques and professional software, including R tidyverse, Python, C# and QL/NoSQL databases, to handle and exploit big data, and to work as part of a project team. • In Year 1, students will study in Plymouth, with all of their clinical placements within daily commute. In Years 2 and 3, all students will complete a semester in Plymouth for the academic delivery, and then a semester on clinical placement in the following locations: Plymouth, Truro or Taunton.

The MSc Clinical Psychology offers masters-level clinical training that will provide you with the practical experience and knowledge you need to fast-track your future career in clinical practice. You will acquire an advanced understanding of clinical practice and research with a hands-on approach to learning, with the training of key clinical skills embedded in all elements of this course.

This includes the acquisition of competencies and understanding of group and family work, the cognitive behavior approach, and interventions to encourage behavior change. Working alongside doctoral trainees, extensive access to service users will provide you with a secure foundation for clinical practice, or preparation for doctoral training in clinical psychology.

As a full-time student, you’ll study seven modules taking in everything from genetics to environmental enrichment, preventative health to budgeting. We update modules to reflect current thinking and you can specialise within them. For example, you can tailor your coursework to species of personal interest. You’ll be assessed through coursework with practical tasks focused on your future career. You cover a range of topics that are of central importance in managing animal collections. As a trained zoo biologist you study conservation, nutrition, welfare, bahaviour, and overall zoo management. You then conduct a final three month research project of your choice. Previous research projects have covered topics ranging from  female mate choice in white-faced saki monkeys to how visitor disturbance and keeper interventions affect the behaviour and enclosure use of captive sand tiger sharks.
