On this BSc Population and Geography degree you'll explore the effects of changing populations and societies in the 21st century. You’ll look at population and geography across the developed and developing world. These skills will allow you to pursue careers such as population analyst, regional planner or social researcher. The programme responds to employers’ increasing demand for quantitative skills.

This course covers how human populations change and the causes and consequences of these changes. Topics you'll cover include migration, population growth, global health, inequality, and globalisation.

In previous trips, students have visited research institutes in Ghana, India and South Africa. You’ll collect data and observe population issues first hand.

You’ll study the design and manufacture of fast-moving aircraft and spacecraft, then specialise in their materials, structures and analysis. MEng Aeronautics and Astronautics / Materials and Structures prepares you for a career in engineering design or further research.

Aeronautics and Astronautics looks at the science, engineering and manufacture of aircraft and spacecraft. On our aeronautical engineering courses you'll learn how they operate within our atmosphere and in space.

You’ll study the principles of aerospace engineering, then take more advanced modules in materials, construction and testing to learn about aeronautical and manufacturing engineering.

In year 3 you will do an individual research project. In year 4 you’ll take part in a group design project.

This course will give you knowledge about the biology of the marine environment and how it relates to physical and chemical oceanography. You'll cover advanced topics like data management for biologists and advanced oceanography fieldwork. This will prepare you for a range of careers such as research and wildlife management, or for work in government agencies.

This degree examines the biology of marine organisms within their environments, from intertidal coasts to deep sea and hydrothermal vents systems. You'll learn how marine plants and animals interact with their environment and respond to change.

You'll become part of one of the largest marine science communities in Europe through the world-leading research institution, the National Oceanography Centre Southampton (NOCS). Our research vessels are only a 10-minute walk from the lecture theatres. Boat-based fieldwork is an important part of the programme.

The Amputation and Prosthetic Rehabilitation MSc is a flexible programme of higher-level study suitable for both clinicians and non-clinicians who would like to work in this field.
