By choosing to study Life Sciences and Global Sustainable Development (GSD) degree, you will be encountering these questions daily.

You will gain valuable lab and analytical experience whilst studying with Life Sciences. You will apply that knowledge to our current understandings of climate change, social justice, and food security. At the end of the first year, you will choose either a Biological Sciences or Ecology route, allowing you to study modules tailored to your interests and career aspirations.

By studying GSD, you will take a transdisciplinary approach and confront issues from a diverse array of perspectives. You will need to be ready to think creatively and embrace new opinions from your peers from across the world. We will challenge you to become an active participant in your own learning.

You can enhance your skills and studies through optional work placements, study abroad, and certificates.

Designed for budding entrepreneurs, for those with family businesses that need transforming, and for those wanting to bring an innovative entrepreneurial mindset to their next job, this course will allow you to apply best practice approaches to your business proposals to maximise chances of success.

It is a practical course, covering the process from generating new business ideas, developing, testing, and refining ideas, and designing the infrastructure, right through to launching the business. You will focus on how innovation can be exploited in technological and business contexts, to increase success for new product or services-based businesses.

You will cover themes such as business modelling, sales, starting a new business, innovation, leadership and financial issues. Throughout your dissertation, you will rigorously develop your own business ideas, guided by experienced mentors, so that by the end of the course you will be in a strong position to launch your own business.

We have a Business Accelerator within the department, where companies and student start-ups can get ongoing technology and business support, a large alumni network of successful entrepreneurs, and pathways for entrepreneurship visa sponsorship.

The automotive industry is synonymous with creativity and innovation. In the UK, companies like BMW, Ford, Jaguar Land Rover, Nissan and Toyota are supported by a huge network of manufacturers, employing highly skilled engineers at the forefront of their field and internationally recognised for the solutions they create. The UK is also home to seven of the world’s 10 Formula One teams.

Our Automotive Engineering degrees provide the skills and knowledge you need to stand out from the crowd. As an Engineering student at Warwick, you will develop an in-depth understanding of the classical principles of Engineering by following a general engineering programme for the first four terms. You can then specialise in Automotive Engineering, combining a firm grounding in the principles of automotive engineering with experience of cutting-edge technology.

Study abroad

You may choose to take an intercalated year in industry, research or study abroad between years two and three (BEng and MEng) or between years three and four (MEng only). If you choose to take an intercalated year this will be reflected in your degree title, and add a year to your degree program.

If you have a talent for mathematics and a passion for technology, this exciting, accredited course will enable you to acquire technical skills in software engineering, algorithm analysis and system design, as well as experience of project management, research and scientific methods.

As one of the most established courses in the UK, our focus is on the principles and underpinnings of computer science, an understanding of which will give you the ability to adapt to change and new developments throughout your career.

In short, while we teach using many of the latest technologies, our emphasis on fundamentals will prepare you to engage with any technology. You will work closely with industry leaders, enabling you to develop industrially relevant subject knowledge and transferable skills, such as teamwork, communication and planning. In your third year, you will undertake an individual project, where you will apply your knowledge to an area of your choice under the supervision of world-leading academics.

The course is taught from first principles, which means you do not need prior knowledge of computer science or programming before you arrive. Our only requirements are that you have a strong background in mathematics and the desire to succeed, we will support you through our commitment to teaching excellence and a stimulating academic community.

You may choose to spend a year in industry, research, or study abroad between Years Two and Three of your degree. If you choose to study abroad or take a year in industry, this will be reflected in your degree title.

Study abroad

You can apply to spend a year studying at one of our partner institutions overseas between Years Two and Three of your degree.

We have an established exchange programme with the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, which provides opportunities for our students to experience teaching and learning at another world leading institution.

In addition to benefitting from a rich cultural experience, students returning from studying overseas exhibit an international profile that is attractive to potential employers.

Our Psychology degree is accredited by the British Psychological Society, with an emphasis on practical work. You will cover a broad range of topics that reflect our research strengths but allow you the choice to draw in relevant optional modules from across the University, for example in business, biology, economics, sociology, philosophy or a language.

We are widely recognized as one of the UK’s top research departments, and work closely with the NHS, the police and international bodies such as the United Nations. You will be taught by acclaimed academics whose enthusiasm for the subject is infectious and you will also have the opportunity to conduct a research project on an area of particular interest each year. We give you the opportunity to apply for an intercalated year between your second and final year at Warwick. This will either be abroad at a partner institution or maybe a work placement the student has sourced.

Study abroad

Our Department is part of the University’s large global network of exchange partners, with long-standing agreements with prestigious universities around the world. A particularly popular Warwick option is with Monash University in Melbourne, Australia, acknowledged as one of the world’s top universities.

Our students have previously undertaken study abroad opportunities in Brazil, China, Germany, Indonesia, Japan, the Netherlands, Poland, Singapore, South Korea, Spain and the USA. Typically, when students choose to study abroad, they apply in their second year for a third year of study at a partner institution. Students then return to Warwick for their final year.

French and Theatre Studies allows you to develop an in-depth knowledge of French language and culture while also exploring theatre and performance studies through practice and theory.

You will have access to the full range of expertise on offer in both departments. In the School of Modern Languages, this includes a wide variety of cultural and historical modules. Specialisms in the Department of Theatre and Performance Studies include theatre in the African context, contemporary European theatre, applied theatre and playwriting.

You will normally spend your second or third year abroad, consolidating and enhancing your learning.

Study abroad

We strongly recommend that you take a year abroad as part of your modern languages degree, if they are able to. If you are unable to take a year abroad you will move to a three-year degree. You will be required to complete further language reinforcement work. You will also be encouraged to spend time abroad in other ways, during vacation times.

You will usually spend your year abroad doing one of three things:

• Working as a language assistant teaching English in a primary or secondary school
• Studying full-time at a partner university in your chosen country
• On a work placement

You will develop your management and consulting skills for a professional career in which you help businesses to thrive in the digital age. This course is about how to better manage, strategise, and use digital technology for business purposes.

You will get the opportunity to tailor your options to your own interests, giving you the opportunity to specialise in IT consultancy or programming/analytics, or gain an understanding of both disciplines. There is a choice of Dissertation or Business in Practice route. If you are considering further academic study (PhD) and you would like the opportunity to research a topic relating to digital innovation, the dissertation enables you to test and apply the techniques and theories you have gained.

If you would like to develop further applied skills to suit your career aspirations, you can complete your studies with two elective modules and our applied Business in Practice module.

Digital media today affect all aspects of everyday, professional and public life, and understanding its significance requires interdisciplinary knowledge. Based at the Centre for Interdisciplinary Methodologies (CIM) at the University of Warwick, the MA Programme in Digital Media and Culture is an advanced one-year postgraduate degree that addresses the role of digital technologies, media, and infrastructures in relation to culture, economics, politics, and society.

Drawing on multiple disciplines, the degree supports critical approaches to key topics in digital culture, including:

Our teaching combines theory, research methods, and creative practice. By selecting from a diverse offering of modules, students will have, for instance, the opportunity to learn data analytics and visualisation, to engage with speculative design and media art, and to discuss concepts in fields ranging from software studies to environmental humanities.

Based at a research centre promoting cutting-edge scholarship in these areas, our degree is primarily research-driven. MA students will be encouraged to select their own path through the degree and contribute to the culture of CIM by attending invited talks, participating in workshops, and organising interdisciplinary symposiums.

Astrophysics has a special flavor. With the arrival of space-based instrumentation and gravitational wave detection, some of the most exciting discoveries in your life are likely to come in astrophysics.

However, we can't conduct experiments on stars or galaxies as they're too far away and too big. Instead, we need to piece together explanations of what we see. This involves understanding the fundamental physics mechanics, quantum theory, relativity, thermodynamics and trying to work out what they imply for exoplanets, galaxies, stars and the Universe as a whole.

The course covers the principles of physics and their application to explain astrophysical phenomena. In your first year, you will study the classification of astrophysical objects and how we observe them. During the second year, you will study the solar system and stars in some detail. In the third and fourth years, you can study a range of topics including cosmology, exoplanets, the physics of compact objects (black holes, neutron stars and white dwarfs), general relativity and our Sun.

You will be mentored by, and work on projects with, astrophysicists.

Enhance and develop your background in accounting, while exploring theories and cutting-edge techniques in finance on our MSc Accounting and Finance course.

Study accounting in its wider social context, and examine how accounting and reporting decisions affect markets and companies. The course is designed to give you all the accounting and finance tools needed to step into a wide range of financial and accounting careers in an international environment.
