Developed out of our very successful Biotechnology, Bioprocessing and Business Management MSc, this course will provide you with knowledge and understanding of the key technical, business and societal issues relevant to the operation and development of medical biotechnology industries. It will equip you to make original and informed contributions to advance and develop these industries.

It will also develop your capability to research and analyse market needs for medical product development and propose technical strategy based on up-to-date information and leading-edge diagnostic technology.

Economics is at the core of Global Sustainable Development (GSD). On this degree you will critically analyse economic models and theories of sustainable development through quantitative and qualitative approaches. Economics modules will provide you with an essential background in micro and macro economics, as well as methodologies for statistical analysis.

Your studies in GSD will empower you to consider the human and environmental implications of development. You will consider challenging questions on climate change, biodiversity, gender equality, and other core components of sustainability. The combination of Economic Studies and GSD encourages you to take a new perspective on our changing global economy.

Today, economic growth and business expansion must answer to critical concerns about environmental sustainability, biodiversity loss, and human exploitation. You’ll grapple with these debates, and reconcile them with your Business Studies modules.

Throughout your degree, we will challenge you to consider current problems of sustainability from many perspectives, understand their complexity and use a variety of approaches to think creatively about potential solutions.

The holistic approach taken with GSD will complement and challenge your studies with Warwick Business School (WBS), which has a worldwide reputation for its expertise in Business and Management.

By studying linguistics together with German, you will explore the fascinating human capacity for language, while also building your fluency in German. As a linguist, you will learn about the structure and function of language, and about relationships between language and society.

You will also study and practice written and oral communication in German, and learn broadly about communicating across languages and cultures. Your skills in linguistic analysis will support your language learning, and your knowledge of German will complement your work as a linguist. This course opens many career opportunities that require the knowledge and skills of both a modern language and a deep understanding of language, culture and communication.

(75% linguistics, 25% German).

Study abroad

If you wish to spend a year abroad (which we thoroughly recommend), this will take place in your third year, meaning that you will complete your degree in four years instead of three. All students have the opportunity to apply for an intercalated year abroad at one of our partner universities. The Student Mobility Team offers support for these activities, and the Department's dedicated Study Abroad Co-ordinator can provide more specific information and assistance.

If you are thinking about going into research or industry, this course will give you the opportunity to explore both options and find out what is right for you. You will study at Warwick for your first two years, then apply your understanding through an industrial placement in your third year (acceptance of the placement is subject to academic performance).

Supported by our Student Opportunity (Careers) team, you will be fully involved in and responsible for finding a placement This ensures you are selecting a field that interests you, suits your strengths, and enhances your career prospects. Your industrial supervisor will run your placement, which they will design to be of maximum benefit to both you and the company. They will also ensure it encompasses a wide variety of experiences.

You will return to Warwick for your fourth year, completing a research project and studying optional modules that allow you to explore areas of particular interest.

Study abroad

The course contains a required period of work experience in your third year which may include study in a research context or industrial setting overseas.

Explore the extraordinary breadth and depth of French and Francophone language and culture, and the rich tradition of French-language cinema at Warwick.

Our French with Film degree lets you collaborate with expert academics to develop your language skills. Together, we will examine the historical, cultural, geographical, and political contexts in which French is spoken across the world. By spending a quarter of your time on Film Studies, you will also acquire a specialist knowledge of French cinema, Hollywood cinema, and other European film cultures.

You will normally spend your second or third year abroad in France or a French speaking country. This is a great opportunity to immerse yourself in the language and culture, and perfect your language skills.

Study abroad

We strongly recommend that you take a year abroad as part of your modern languages degree, if they are able to. If you are unable to take a year abroad you will move to a three-year degree. You will be required to complete further language reinforcement work. You will also be encouraged to spend time abroad in other ways, during vacation times.

You will usually spend your year abroad doing one of three things:

• Working as a language assistant teaching English in a primary or secondary school
• Studying full-time at a partner university in your chosen country
• On a work placement

If you have a talent for mathematics and a passion for technology, this exciting, accredited course will enable you to acquire technical skills in software engineering, algorithm analysis and system design, as well as experience of project management, research and scientific methods.

As one of the most established courses in the UK, our focus is on the principles and underpinnings of computer science, an understanding of which will give you the ability to adapt to change and new developments throughout your career.

In short, while we teach using many of the latest technologies, our emphasis on fundamentals will prepare you to engage with any technology. You will work closely with industry leaders, enabling you to develop industrially relevant subject knowledge and transferable skills, such as teamwork, communication and planning. In your third year, you will undertake an individual project, where you will apply your knowledge to an area of your choice under the supervision of world-leading academics.

The course is taught from first principles, which means you do not need prior knowledge of computer science or programming before you arrive. Our only requirements are that you have a strong background in mathematics and the desire to succeed, we will support you through our commitment to teaching excellence and a stimulating academic community.

You may choose to spend a year in industry, research, or study abroad between Years Two and Three of your degree. If you choose to study abroad or take a year in industry, this will be reflected in your degree title.

Study abroad

You can apply to spend a year studying at one of our partner institutions overseas between Years Two and Three of your degree.

We have an established exchange programme with the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, which provides opportunities for our students to experience teaching and learning at another world leading institution.

In addition to benefitting from a rich cultural experience, students returning from studying overseas exhibit an international profile that is attractive to potential employers.

Our MA is designed to prepare students for specialised postgraduate research in the fields of Art History and Visual Studies. You will have the option of spending the autumn term in Venice or can study for the full year on the Warwick campus.

The course enables you to develop your research skills by studying different periods and media in the history of art, and by taking an active part in research, exploring some of the broader issues in Art History today such as cross-cultural interaction and the arts, the spatial contexts of art, architecture and urbanism, and the arts within a global society.

This degree explores two rich and diverse literary and cultural traditions.

There is a core German language module in every year of study. The first year will introduce you to English and German literature and culture though core and optional core modules.

In your intermediate and final years, all English and German optional modules are open to you, spanning topics from literature and critical theory to film, history society and gender.

Our Psychology degree is accredited by the British Psychological Society, with an emphasis on practical work. You will cover a broad range of topics that reflect our research strengths but allow you the choice to draw in relevant optional modules from across the University, for example in business, biology, economics, sociology, philosophy or a language.

You will be taught by acclaimed academics whose enthusiasm for the subject is infectious and you will also have the opportunity to conduct a research project on an area of particular interest each year. We give you the opportunity to apply for an intercalated year between your second and final year at Warwick. This will either be abroad at a partner institution or maybe a work placement the student has sourced.
