The fundamentals of polymer synthesis and properties will be introduced, but then special focus is placed on modern instrumentation and analytical methods used for polymer and materials characterisation.

You will receive advanced knowledge from experts within academia and collaborating companies. Gaining hands-on experience in a variety of relevant techniques will enable you to work in any modern laboratory because the skills you acquire will be readily transferable between disciplines.

Designed to bring out the beauty and universality of physics, our flexible Physics course provides broad and in-depth teaching that is informed by our research.

Core modules introduce and develop the fundamental concepts, such as those of quantum theory and electromagnetism, and cover the mathematics used in physics. Optional modules provide opportunities to see how the basic concepts can explain the phenomena we observe.

For the final year project, you will work as a member of one of the research groups on a year-long project to explore aspects that are not yet fully understood. We encourage you to apply for summer placements and projects, which enable you to complete a small research project supervised by a member of academic staff.

The four-year integrated Masters's course is ideal if you intend to make direct use of your knowledge of physics after you graduate. The fourth-year includes modules on all the main areas of physics. It will encourage you to reflect more on some of the unsolved problems in physics, with the final two years offering modules in key areas of physics, including specialist modules.

Study abroad

We support student mobility through study abroad programs. BSc students have the opportunity to apply for an intercalated year abroad at one of our partner universities.

Research and write a 40,000-word Dissertation on a topic of your choice under the supervision of one of our internationally-leading experts. Suitable for students who already have considerable research skills and a clear idea of their own particular area of interest for further research.

Before you arrive, you will be matched to one or more of our expert supervisors and during the course. You will meet with them frequently for guidance on the conceptualisation, research and writing of your Dissertation. This will include reading and discussion of draft material.

You will also be expected to participate in the research culture of the School, for example by attending research seminars.

Combining the study of German language, culture and contemporary society with in-depth business practice, this degree is split between the School of Modern Languages and Cultures, and Warwick Business School.

On the Business Studies side you can take many different pathways through your course including human resource management, accounting, finance, principles of organisational behaviour, production and operations management, industrial relations, corporate strategy, and auditing.

The German side of the degree enables you to acquire in-depth knowledge of German (business) language, culture, society and history.

You will normally spend your second or third year abroad, consolidating and enhancing your learning.

Study abroad

We strongly recommend that you take a year abroad as part of your modern languages degree, if you are able to. If you are unable to take a year abroad you will move to a three-year. You will be required to complete further language reinforcement work. You will also be encouraged to spend time abroad in other ways, during vacation times.

You will usually spend your year abroad doing one of three things:

• Working as a language assistant teaching English in a primary or secondary school
• Studying full-time at a partner university in your chosen country
• On a work placement

Why do people think, behave, and understand themselves in certain ways? Why does this vary between individuals and across cultures? How might a more complete understanding of human behavior help to achieve a more sustainable future for all? A BASc in Psychology and GSD challenges you to ask these questions across both sides of your degree program.

You will study biological, developmental, and social aspects of human psychology with Warwick's Psychology Department. Meanwhile, you will balance your studies with the GSD Department, by delving into the Big Questions of today, including food and water security, gender equality, and climate change. Throughout, you will be researching the relationship between individual behavior and the global challenges we all face.

Our students are aspiring global citizens with social consciences. They’re flexible, adaptable and broad-minded.

By studying GSD, you’ll take a transdisciplinary approach and confront issues from a diverse array of perspectives. You will need to be ready to think creatively and embrace new opinions from your peers from across the world. We will challenge you to become an active participant in your own learning.

Study abroad
We encourage you to take the opportunity to study abroad during your course at Warwick.

• Enjoy the freedom to take chances with your module choices.
• Push yourself outside of your comfort zone with your learning.
• You may have the opportunity to learn a new language and immerse yourself in a new learning context.
• You may choose to apply for an intercalated year spent either studying abroad or on a work placement (subject to you meeting departmental academic requirements). This will mean extending your course to four years.

If you want to extend your learning and broaden your perspective by studying abroad for a year, Warwick has partnerships with universities across the world. You will spend your first and second years at Warwick, studying abroad in your third year. You will then return to Warwick for your final year.

The MA in Critical and Cultural Theory will equip you with the analytical tools and concepts to respond to, understand, theorise, and critique the literary and cultural artefacts of the modern world. In the dedicated core module, you will immerse yourself in fundamental theoretical questions through individual reading and collective discussion.

You can also choose from a wide range of modules that span a variety of critical perspectives and approaches to literary studies, and grapple with the ideas of some of the great critical thinkers. You will also write a dissertation on an (approved) topic of your choice with a specialised supervisor.

If you have a talent for mathematics and a passion for technology, this exciting, accredited course will enable you to acquire technical skills in software engineering, algorithm analysis and system design, as well as experience of project management, research and scientific methods.

As one of the most established courses in the UK, our focus is on the principles and underpinnings of computer science, an understanding of which will give you the ability to adapt to change and new developments throughout your career.

In short, while we teach using many of the latest technologies, our emphasis on fundamentals will prepare you to engage with any technology. You will work closely with industry leaders, enabling you to develop industrially relevant subject knowledge and transferable skills, such as teamwork, communication and planning. In your third year, you will undertake an individual project, where you will apply your knowledge to an area of your choice under the supervision of world-leading academics.

The course is taught from first principles, which means you do not need prior knowledge of computer science or programming before you arrive. Our only requirements are that you have a strong background in mathematics and the desire to succeed, we will support you through our commitment to teaching excellence and a stimulating academic community.

You may choose to spend a year in industry, research, or study abroad between Years Two and Three of your degree. If you choose to study abroad or take a year in industry, this will be reflected in your degree title.

Study abroad

You can apply to spend a year studying at one of our partner institutions overseas between Years Two and Three of your degree.

We have an established exchange programme with the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, which provides opportunities for our students to experience teaching and learning at another world leading institution.

In addition to benefitting from a rich cultural experience, students returning from studying overseas exhibit an international profile that is attractive to potential employers.

This course has been designed to fulfil the specific needs of graduates interested in a management or leadership role within the complex health service sector. Healthcare organisations share many commonalities with production facilities, including the need for efficient process flow, change management, and quality standards.  

You will explore the principles, approaches, strategies and techniques to understand, model, analyse and manage complex healthcare systems. You will also learn to measure efficiency and improve effectiveness and productivity, without compromising quality or safety. Ultimately, you will gain the essential knowledge to manage the integration of people, systems, and technologies to ensure the delivery of consistent, high quality, person centric care.  

The course is suitable for graduates from a broad range of academic disciplines across technical, scientific, medical, management, and social sciences. Strong quantitative skills will be required.

By studying linguistics together with French, you will explore the fascinating human capacity for language, while also building your fluency in French. As a linguist, you will learn about the structure and function of language, and about relationships between language and society.

You will also study and practice written and oral communication in French, and learn broadly about communicating across languages and cultures. Your skills in linguistic analysis will support your language learning, and your knowledge of French will complement your work as a linguist. This course opens many career opportunities that require the knowledge and skills of both a modern language and a deep understanding of language, culture and communication.

Study abroad

If you wish to spend a year abroad (which we thoroughly recommend), this will take place in your third year, meaning that you will complete your degree in four years instead of three. All students have the opportunity to apply for an intercalated year abroad at one of our partner universities. The Student Mobility Team offers support for these activities, and the Department's dedicated Study Abroad Co-ordinator can provide more specific information and assistance.

Neuroscience is the discipline that encompasses the study of the brain and nervous system in health and disease. This degree course is designed for students who wish to develop a greater understanding of the most complex and enigmatic of organs.

With the knowledge and practical experience gained on this course, you will be able to develop a career in neuroscience and human health. Careers could include academic research, laboratory services, pharmaceutical drug discovery or clinical trials. Alternatively, you may wish to pursue a career in employment sectors that appreciate the value of a solid understanding of scientific principles, methods and approaches.

Our four-year MBio gives you the opportunity to undertake an extended final-year research project in-house.
