Economics is at the core of Global Sustainable Development (GSD). On this degree you will critically analyse economic models and theories of sustainable development through quantitative and qualitative approaches. Economics modules will provide you with an essential background in micro and macro economics, as well as methodologies for statistical analysis.

Your studies in GSD will empower you to consider the human and environmental implications of development. The objective of Commercial Law is to facilitate commercial transactions, whether a sale of goods, dealing in digital content or data, secured financing arrangements, or mergers. Once a commercial transaction crosses jurisdictional borders, complex questions arise regarding the enforceability of all the terms in a commercial agreement, the law(s) which apply to the transaction, and where any disputes which might arise from the transaction can be resolved.

This LLM will provide you with a solid foundation for understanding the legal challenges of international commerce, and will allow you to explore how a range of international transactions are regulated through a combination of contracts, domestic law and internationally agreed rules.

As an Engineering student at Warwick, you will develop an in-depth understanding of the classical principles of Engineering by following a general engineering programme for the first four terms. You can then choose to specialise in Biomedical Systems Engineering, learning to apply systems methodology and concepts from other Engineering disciplines to the modelling, analysis of, and interventions for, biomedical problems.

The degree reflects our strengths and industry collaborations in biomedical systems modelling, pharmacology, and healthcare technology, explored from a systems perspective.

By choosing the MEng degree you can explore specialist areas of Biomedical Systems Engineering through fourth-year core and optional module choices and a group project.

Study abroad

You may choose to take an intercalated year in industry, research or study abroad between years two and three (BEng and MEng), or between years three and four (MEng only). If you choose to take an intercalated year, this will be reflected in your degree title, and add a year to your degree programme.

As an MEng student you may choose to take your third year as an exchange year at a partner university abroad, subject to academic requirements and approval of study programme.

This degree responds directly to the growing demand across research fields and by employers in society for a new generation of postgraduates who can critically engage with big data theoretically, methodologically and practically. In contrast to many big data-focused degrees (such as Data Science or Data Analytics) where the emphasis is almost exclusively on data practices and computational tools, this degree underpins key practical skills with a range of theoretical approaches to data.

Philosophy of Mind and Philosophy of Psychology are key strengths of the Philosophy Department. It supports strong teaching and research links with the Psychology Department. As a philosophical psychologist you will learn to understand, critically analyze and construct complex theoretical positions, integrating conceptual arguments and empirical research. Drawing on established strengths within our Sociology Department, you will explore a variety of areas: culture and ethnic identities, geopolitical conflict, gender, environmentalism, social movements, sexuality, social theory, state crime, terrorism and modern society, punishment and community justice, youth crime, youth justice, policing, and issues of security in a global context.

This degree includes a year abroad studying French law at a university in France and is aimed at those with a strong grasp of the French language.

You will develop an excellent understanding of core legal principles of both the English and the French legal systems. Examining the law from a modern, international and critical perspective will equip you for the demands of a global legal market.

You will gain insight into the impact on the law of cultural, economic and political developments, and learn how law affects everyday life in the UK, France and beyond.

You will develop advanced legal, research, independent learning and writing skills, and will become a confident communicator, able to participate fully in debates and to present your ideas clearly, both in English and in French.

Study abroad

This course features an integral year abroad, in which you will study approved law modules at one of our partner universities in France which currently include Paris, Bordeaux or Lille.

Study abroad

We strongly recommend that you take a year abroad as part of your modern languages degree, if you are able to. If you are unable to take a year abroad you may move to a three-year degree.
