The Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Science focuses on the basics of computer problem solving applicable to the science disciplines.  The program builds a strong foundation in programming, software development, algorithms, computer organization, operating systems, networking, and database systems.

Healthcare Management - Concentration
The MBA with a Concentration in Healthcare Management is designed to allow students to complement their studies in business administration with in-depth coverage of the core components of the healthcare administration arena and the unique issues and challenges facing healthcare organizations in the dynamic healthcare industry. Students will complete the 24 hours of the MBA core and 15 hours of graduate level courses in Healthcare Administration.

The major in business administration provides students with a diversified rather than a specialized program in business and economics. It is designed especially for those who need a broad background of training for managing a business of their own or for students planning to enter a large business which maintains its own specialized training program. This program requires a study of every major sector of business activity, with emphasis on creative thinking which will prepare the student for today's employment as well as for meeting tomorrow's challenges.

The Bachelor of Arts degree in music permits the study of music within a liberal arts curriculum and provides a broad coverage of the field of music rather than a heavy concentration in a single area. This degree requires a minor (approved by the advisor) and twelve hours of a foreign language.

Prerequisites

• Students must meet requirements set by the College of Liberal Arts and Communication for entry into the Music Program.
• Admission to the University is required. A strong background in music ensembles and private study is recommended.

The Department of Criminology, Sociology, and Geography at Arkansas State University - Jonesboro offers a General M.A. Degree in Sociology and a M.A. degree in Sociology with a Concentration in Criminology. The program is designed to prepare students for entry into Ph.D. programs and provides skills and training necessary for employment as professional sociologists and in other related occupations.

Some M.A. recipients go directly into teaching at the community college or high school level. Others enter the corporate, non-profit, and government worlds as directors of research, policy analysts, consultants, human resource managers, and program managers. The Bachelors of Science in Information Systems and Business Analytics (ISBA) is designed to prepare students for careers as IT professionals.  Our graduates hold positions as network administrators, application programmers, website developers, database architects, operations schedulers, and technical support specialists, to name a few.  

Of particular interest to potential students who already have practical IT experience should be the alignment of many ISBA courses with industry certifications. Consequently, students can simultaneously complete their major requirements and prepare for industry certification exams.  This further makes it possible for students to receive course credit for certifications already earned.

The Department of ISBA, provides instruction and conducts research addressing information systems and the technology supporting those systems. We are involved also, through technology transfer, in assisting the University with its economic development mission for the Delta Region and beyond. In addition, as consultants, we serve other constituents within the University and around the local community.

The major in International Business permits students to prepare for managerial careers in international business. It is interdisciplinary in nature and emphasizes the development of language skills as well as an understanding of the sociocultural, political, managerial, marketing, and economic understanding of the international environment.

The Bachelor of Arts in Theatre is a 120-credit hour degree program designed to provide students with professional-caliber training within the framework of a liberal arts education with specific coursework in acting, directing, design, literature and history.

Emphases in Musical Theatre

Private and group singing instruction, scene study, musical theatre performance and a variety of dance courses are essential components of the Musical Theatre emphasis.
