Overview
The California State University, East Bay School of Engineering, provides an interdisciplinary master’s of science degree in Engineering Management. This degree is designed for working engineers and professionals who are in leadership/management positions or who are planning to advance their careers into the management of technical enterprises. It is also designed to benefit engineering or science graduates who are interested in assuming leadership positions in industry. Students gain theoretical and practical training in how to plan, organize, allocate resources, and direct and control activities that have technological components. The curriculum is distinctive in that it provides a blend of qualitative management and quantitative industrial engineering skills. Courses are offered in engineering, business, computer science and statistics.

Optional Practical Training or OPT is a period during which students, who have completed their degrees in the USA, are permitted to work for one year on a student visa by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). OPT allows students to work for up to 3 years and develop real-world skills to survive in the competitive jobs market.
It is temporary employment for a period of 12-months that is directly related to the major area of study of an F-1 student. Eligible students have the option to apply for OPT employment authorization before completing their academic studies and/or after completing their academic studies.

Master of Business Administration for Global Innovators
California State University, East Bay's Master of Science in Accountancy (MSA) program is an AACSB accredited, high quality, rigorous accounting program. This program prepares students for entry into the accounting profession. Graduates of the MSA program will have opportunities to pursue a wide range of professional accounting careers in public accounting firms, corporations, government agencies, and nonprofit organizations.
The MSA program provides students with the 24 semester units of ACCOUNTING SUBJECTS required for the U.S. Certified Public Accountants (CPA) exam. The program also provides both the 20 semester units of ACCOUNTING STUDY and 10 semester units of the ETHICS STUDY to satisfy the 30 semester units, part of the 150 semester units, required for CPA licensure in California.
The program focuses on the knowledge of the U.S. and international financial reporting and auditing standards, taxation, business laws and regulations, and accountants’ professional responsibilities. It also enables students to develop professional communication and collaborative teamwork skills.
This is a cohort-based, 17-month graduate program. The program accepts students only once a year in Fall semester. Students are guaranteed to complete the entire program in 17 months.

The Recreation degree prepares students for leadership positions in public recreation and leisure services agencies. Such work enhances the quality of life for millions of people each day across the nation. Specializations available in the degree include the Sustainability Concentration, Youth Development Programming Concentration, and a Recreation Therapy Concentration that prepares students to sit for the state RT licensing exam.
Potential jobs in this rewarding field include program coordinators, supervisors and directors in a variety of areas including day camps, sports, youth, teen and older adult activities and classes and naturalist, park ranger positions. Many graduates from our program are leaders in leisure services organizations including Concord, Livermore, Oakland, Pleasanton, San Ramon, and the East Bay Regional Park District.

Bachelor of Science in Physics
In Physics, one attempts to discover, formulate, explain, and apply the basic laws of nature. Physicists work in areas as diverse as astrophysics, relativity, properties of materials, or the standard model of fundamental particles and interactions. The Principles of Physics provide the foundation for other sciences as well as engineering. Some of the examples of modern technological development from the application of physical principles include radio and television, computers, laser scanners, and communication by fiber optics. In addition, physicists explore problems in astronomy and theories for the origin and evolution of the universe.
At Cal State East Bay students can pursue a Bachelor of Science (B.S) degree. The B.S. degree major program is designed to give students an understanding of the fundamentals of physics including concepts of atomic and nuclear physics, classical mechanics, wave motion and sound, electromagnetism and optics, heat and thermodynamics, relativity, quantum mechanics, and elementary particles and their interactions.

The Department of Kinesiology offers programs focusing on fundamental analysis of sport, exercise and physical activity phenomena. The purpose of the Master of Science degree program is to give students a cross-disciplinary knowledge of kinesiology, develop their scholarly skills, and hone their professional application. The program serves as a terminal degree for professionals as well as preparation for those intending to complete a doctorate in Kinesiology or in one of the Allied Health Professions. Building on an understanding of mathematics, physics, and biology, biochemistry majors receive a background in the major disciplines of chemistry including inorganic, analytical, organic, and physical, and take in-depth coursework in biochemistry. The College of Business and Economics, which offers the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (B.S.B.A.) program, is committed to providing life-changing, quality business education to prepare students from diverse backgrounds to become successful business professionals and leaders. The B.S.B.A. program imparts students with the knowledge and skills necessary to understand the changing global business environment and to prepare students for success in their professional careers.
The B.S.B.A. major program is structured around a set of core courses enabling students to develop general business perspective and skills. Students are required to choose an area of specialization, i.e., concentration, corresponding to their desired career path.
