The theology major or minor gives you a strong understanding of the Christian faith that will support you in your chosen vocation. As a university of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS), our courses are taught in accord with the Lutheran Confessions. The theology program is not intended to stand alone. Rather, it is intended primarily for those of you who are preparing for certification as professional church workers such as Lutheran School Teachers or Directors of Church Ministries (DCM). (That is why the internship is specific to your track.) If you aren’t interested in the education or church ministries routes, we highly recommend checking out the Christian Thought program.

You can expect to benefit from a well-rounded study of biblical and systematic theology, along with the application of that theology in your life within the Christian Church. You’ll  join renowned scholars  as you delve into the Old and New Testaments, systematic doctrine, and practical theology (teaching and worship). We offer many theology electives, so you can explore and grow in the particular areas that interest you.

The bulk of your time in this program will be spent learning Hebrew and Greek, the languages that the Old and New Testaments were written in. Why? In order to translate Scripture into the indigenous languages of those whom you are ministering to, you must start from the original text.

In addition to translating the Bible, your coursework will include an in-depth exploration of the Old Testament, the New Testament, and Christian Doctrine. To complete your well-rounded studies, you’ll also delve into anthropology, communications, and missions to gain the basic skills necessary to work in a variety of mission settings.

The greatest benefit of this program is that you get to combine areas of study that compliment each other. By studying biblical languages, Christian doctrine, and missions, you gain diverse training that applies in many different areas of service. Each component of your training will support and enhance your ability to serve Christ—no matter what continent you find yourself on!

In this program, you will study anatomy, patient positioning, examination techniques, equipment protocols, radiation safety, radiation protection, and basic patient care. As is fairly evident from the above sentence, we take both patient and medical personnel safety very seriously. You’ll grow confident in your abilities as you learn from some of the best faculty and professionals in the field.

This CUW bachelor degree is a Two plus Two program, in which you spend the first two years on Concordia’s campus taking prerequisite classes prior to entry into the Radiologic Technology (RT) program. You’ll then apply for the next phase that consists of didactic courses and clinical experience with our partner clinical affiliations. It is worth noting that this is a competitive program, so acceptance is not guaranteed. To improve your chances, we’d like to encourage you to demonstrate exemplary grades, prior health care experience, and job shadow hours.

Because the pre-professional curriculum requires about 67 credits (17 credits per semester if taken in 4 semesters), we highly recommend using winterim and summer breaks to fulfill course requirements. Once you are accepted, the more advanced work begins. At first, you are going to spend most of your time in the classroom and scan laboratory, with less time in clinicals. This is to provide you with the theories and principles to ground you before applying them in a real-world environment. Gradually, your classroom time will be reduced as your clinical component increases. You’ll have the opportunity to engage in hands-on learning at one of our partner clinics including Aurora, Wheaton Franciscan, and Froedtert Health systems.
With this degree, you will be a key part of the health care field by safely creating images needed to check for bone fractures, blocked blood vessels, abnormal growths in breast tissue, brain tumors, and so much more. Upon graduation, you will be ready to find a rewarding career in a variety of settings. The CUW business management program builds a strong foundation and offers broad liberal arts and business training you’ll need to not just manage, but to lead in today’s ever shifting business environment.

While in the program, you’ll master current software for designing and managing business projects, while adopting proven project management tools and techniques at each stage in a project’s lifecycle. You’ll gain an understanding of how to integrate organizational strategies that involve the parent, supplier, and sub-supplier organizations working together in domestic and global environments. You will have the opportunity to develop a comprehensive business plan. With successful completion of the program, students will be equipped to demonstrate their skills to manage and coordinate resources to achieve organizational goals.

With a Bachelor’s in Management from CUW, you’ll be well prepared for a huge variety of career paths, including Business analyst, sales, project management, operations and owning your own business. You’ll emerge from the program ready to take on anything from designing business projects to how to manage projects domestically and internationally. In order to meet the diverse needs of congregations, you will gain a wide range of skills through completion of a theology major and two minors. Your first minor, Church Ministries, includes a specialization chosen from six areas of church ministry. These include: Evangelism, Missions, Parish Teaching, Youth Ministry, Christian Service Learning & Leadership, and Social Ministry (for men) or Pre-Deaconess (for women intending to enroll in the deaconess programs at either of the LCMS seminaries). Your second minor is Nonprofit Management. For those of you who really want to specialize in more than one area of church ministry, it’s possible to do so by carefully choosing electives that apply.

While all courses and doctrine are taught in accord with the Lutheran confessions, men and women of any denomination are welcome to join this program. Only members of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod will be certified and may be eligible to be rostered with the LCMS as a “Minister of Religion Commissioned—Director of Church Ministries (DCM).”

You will complete the Concordia core curriculum and electives, in addition to the credits transferred, to complete your bachelor’s degree in radiologic technology. We encourage you to select a minor that will help you fulfill the total number of credits (120) needed for graduation. You can transfer up to 84 credits and a minimum of 63 credits. This degree can be completed in a year and a half or less! From the very start, we will match you with an academic advisor to determine how many credits you are able to transfer, and get you started on your journey to growing in your career.

We understand that you are a busy working professional. That is why this program provides flexible learning options. Each course lasts 6 or 8 weeks (depending on the given format). You’ll benefit from coursework that is founded on a Christ-centered education.

It is a very diverse, crosscutting discipline with vast opportunities, in both public and private sectors, at the local, state, and national levels. This degree offers a Lutheran Christian perspective on public health and prepares you to serve Christ around the world as a globally minded citizen working to protect and promote the public’s health. It is an engaging, multidisciplinary educational program filled with practical application opportunities to prepare you to be a strong, competitive candidate in the public health sector.

In this degree program, you will have the opportunity to personalize your concentration depending on your interest. Regardless of which concentration you choose, all undergraduate students will complete a minimum of 120 credits, including 45 credit hours of general education core curricula, 25 credit hours of required public health coursework, and 3 credit hours of a culminating/capstone project

The inter-related sports and entertainment industries show no signs of slowing down. The North American sports market alone will grow from $63.9 billion to $75.7 billion by 2020, according to PricewaterhouseCoopers. But that’s nothing compared to the global market. In 2016, the size of the sports industry was a whopping $1.3 trillion worldwide! So needless to say, there’s a demand for people with a degree in sport and entertainment business. Housed within the Batterman School of Business, our program let’s you pursue a variety of careers in athletic and entertainment management. Our curriculum is current, engaging, and challenging – with courses and experiences designed under the guidance of a professional advisory board consisting of industry practitioners – to help you develop the fundamentals, skills, and character that will give you the best chance to thrive in a competitive industry.

Not only that, but you’ll work with industry pros, networking with and learning from experts in professional and amature sports and entertainment, along with business people who work within the innumerable sub-professions tied to these industries. But nothing beats hands-on experience. If you display consistent professional and personal growth, you could earn intensive field experience opportunities at major events like the Rose Bowl, Final Four, Frozen Four, College World Series, COPA, and even the Super Bowl. That’s what we like to call a win/win.
It might be beneficial to first take a quick look at what to expect in this program: grueling two-a-days, endless ladders, extensive weight training … heck, you don’t even have to break a sweat earning this degree. Which isn’t to say the program is easy. Indeed, it’s challenging. But still, you catch the drift. You can pursue your goals through an undergraduate major or minor, the MBA concentration, or a professional certificate. Courses will focus on critical analysis, solution development, innovation, analytics, finance, teamwork development, leadership growth, and more.

How will you learn these crucial things? Through lectures, guest speakers, academic service learning, field experience, online/social media resources, and new technologies. So while the athletes are hitting the field, court, et al., working their butts off to make it to the next level, you’ll be setting yourself up for a long, successful career in sports and entertainment by hitting the books. Not bad.

Study how to create complex hardware and software systems, manage complex computer information systems (IT), and lead a technical team. Now offering two new tracks in Software Engineering and Computer Information Systems. Both of these tracks will build on your existing experience by deepening your skills and knowledge in the main areas of computer science. A bachelor's degree in a related field is recommended, but not required. Optional catch-up modules are available for each course to help bring you up to speed.

Upon completion of the MSCS program, you’ll be trained in problem solving, collaboration, creative design processes, professional literature, writing, presentation, and ethical practices. You’ll be prepared for advanced professional positions in software development and other technical/design-oriented roles in computing.

Our computer science master's program was designed with working professionals in mind. You’ll get a rigorous, quality education that fits within your busy schedule. All courses will be available online in an accelerated eight week format, but three courses per semester will be offered face-to-face on campus.

Software Engineering

The software engineering track builds or sharpens your skills in creating problem-solving tools using computers. The specialization courses dive into traditional concepts and current trends in the theory, design, and implementation of programming languages, compilers, and advanced algorithms. A MSCS degree with this concentration opens the door for advancement in a career in software development, data or business analysis, and more. People in this field with a master's degree typically perform roles such as team lead or senior developer.

This master’s program focuses on how the family relates to society. With a strong emphasis on counseling skills, you’ll be given a great opportunity to bring Christian compassion and understanding to the challenges that face modern families. This program teaches you how to help parents, teachers, and students face the challenges that confront them. You’ll learn skills that will allow you to positively impact a child’s well-being and equip parents to navigate today’s culture.
