This degree offers a Lutheran Christian perspective on public health and prepares you to serve Christ around the world as a globally minded citizen working to protect and promote the public’s health. It is an engaging, multidisciplinary educational program filled with practical application opportunities to prepare you to be a strong, competitive candidate in the public health sector.

In this degree program, you will have the opportunity to personalize your concentration depending on your interest. Regardless of which concentration you choose, all undergraduate students will complete a minimum of 120 credits, including 45 credit hours of general education core curricula, 25 credit hours of required public health coursework, and 3 credit hours of a culminating/capstone project

The MPD Chemical program will provide the additional education and hands-on training that science majors need to secure jobs in the pharmaceutical or chemical product development industries; accordingly classes are taught in an applied manner.

• You’ll focus on traditional chemistry and instrumentation principles as a way of creating and validating potential new active pharmaceutical ingredients, streamlining complex synthesis, analyzing the shelf-life of API’s, or designing cost-effective synthetic routes
• Individual product development projects partner you with an industry expert to build on existing ideas or cultivate your own original designs
• Curriculum blends technical skills with business strategy, market analysis, regulatory/compliance (FDA, ISO), and legal considerations (patent, licensing)

You’ll apprentice with industry partners and learn in state-of-the-art analytical and pilot-scale labs (like the new hybrid classroom/cGMP lab on the Innovation Campus). In addition, you’ll be able to take advantage of networking and collaboration opportunities provided by the Interprofessional Education (IPE) program.

Whether you’re studying non-living systems in physical science, examining the natural processes of our planet in environmental science, or dive into learning more about life and living organisms in biology, a broadfield science education degree will prepare you to teach any science class. In addition to this degree, you can select to do a physical science or biology/environmental science emphasis. physical science allows you to teach upper level courses in chemistry while the biology emphasis allows you to teach upper level biology.

Students who desire licensure in another state must contact their state department of education for details about whether or not this coursework will meet state requirements. 

The classical education program comprises an interdisciplinary course of study in classical studies and classical teaching methods, grounded in the liberal arts tradition with a strong foundation in the Lutheran heritage. The complete classical education program at Concordia is comprised of our classical studies major (which provides you with a classical foundation) and the classical pedagogy minor (where you’ll learn how to teach according to classical principles).

Students can anticipate engaging the liberal arts at all levels of the program. You will gain a solid foundation in classical culture and the Christian intellectual tradition. You will explore the history, theory and practice of a classical approach to curriculum and pedagogy. You will develop a thorough knowledge of biblical content and demonstrate an understanding of the Christian worldview from a Lutheran perspective. Upon graduation, you will have the broad content knowledge and practical experience that classical schools are looking for in teacher candidates.

This program is designed specifically for students who want to engage in serious theological discussion, and who are not also pursuing an Education or Director of Church Ministries degree.

In this program, you’ll have the opportunity to study the structure of Christian belief and practice. You’ll dive into God’s Word as well as respected Lutheran doctrinal texts to properly frame your thoughts and perspectives before exploring the cultural, political, and theological implications of God’s Word on your daily life. In short, this program is for anyone with an earnest desire to better understand and grapple with God’s message of salvation so that you can communicate it with confidence and zeal for the benefit of the Kingdom.

The art education program is designed to provide you with a challenging course of study that will focus on art to enhance your intellectual development, personal growth, and career satisfaction. You will develop your own abilities as an artist and then learn how to help others create and appreciate art. This means, you’ll benefit from a well-rounded overview of the history, purpose, and technical methods of art.

If you don’t have a teaching license, don’t worry. You do not need to have one in order to participate in this program. If you are interested in working with children, their families, and at-risk youth then this program will provide valuable education for you. However, if you have (or are pursuing) your teaching license, then upon completion of the program, you’ll have the option to seek an additional license in art (#1952).

As an educator, you will learn to better understand the role of artistic activity in the human condition, possess an advanced knowledge of art curricula and pedagogy, demonstrate a high level of competence with visual arts media, and be aware of past and current practices in the the field. Our priority is to provide you with the theories that then inform your educational practices. For example, you’ll study how to use works of art, museum visits, and technology to enhance your students’ education.

Our experienced professors will help you discover how to plan, implement and manage marketing tasks like market segmentation, use of media and promotion, budgeting and evaluation. You’ll learn how to research your audience and share your message using the best channel - so you know you’ll be heard.

Being part of a diverse student body means that you’ll have the opportunity to hear other perspectives and think outside of the box. Together, you’ll gain practical skills to effectively employ marketing strategies like direct mail, lead generation, loyalty programs, social-marketing, store-traffic building and pre-selling in all types of media from print and broadcast to the web. You’ll also develop the confidence to organize a sales force through training, compensation, supervising and motivation. As a graduate of our MBA in Strategic Marketing, you’re going to understand the measurability and accountability of direct marketing and how it relates to your company’s overall strategy. From accounting to economics and statistics, you’ll set the groundwork for a wide array of financial and business management topics. We’re talking the time value of money, interest rates, financial statements, capital allocation, stocks, bonds, derivatives, economic policy, international trade, foreign currency, regulation, and many others.

At the end of this program, you will know the ins and outs of business commerce you can apply all around the world. You will learn all levels of finance such as corporate and international and fundamental financial management and valuation principles. When you join the workforce you’ll be confident in commercial banking, financial markets, and monetary and fiscal policy.
